The building is poorly maintained. A leak in the bathroom ceiling made one of the toilets unusable due to constant wetness. Additionally, each floor has at least 15 rooms but only one bathroom for women, which contains just three showers and three toilets, one of which was out of order because of the leak.

The room was very basic, not very clean. AC very loud, you can also hear everything what is happening outside of your room. I can not imagine to stay there during cold months as there are big gaps between AC and window.

Great location! Decent number of bathrooms so no issue with queues. Bathrooms clean and safe (floor 13) although I was missing some shelves or hangers where I can put my things.

You aren't looking at luxury with this place, it is a youth hostel. I stayed in the deluxe private room with a semi private bathroom. I am glad I listened to people who suggested bringing shower shoes as the showers are pretty gross but bearable for a couple of days for the price (I just wouldn't want to walk in bare footed). I brought some earplugs which were helpful as there are always going to be some oblivious people playing music through the speakers on their phone at midnight outside your room *eyerolls* The bedding is exactly what you'd expect at a youth hostel, not luxury and pretty nobbley, but clean and dry.

The location and the price are unbeatable in New York City. It is about 1 minute walk from central park, 3 minute walk from the subway, 15-20 minute walk from times square and all the main Broadway theatres. Very safe neighborhood. Convenient luggage storage for $4 per item for the day. If you like to workout then you're in for a treat too, they have a very well equipped gym with lots of free weights, cardio, indoor run track, pool, racket sport courts, basketball court. Really fantastic facilities. The room is very basic but functional. I really liked that they had a fridge in the room, just big enough for some snacks and drinks but appreciated in the heat.

Definitely needs maintenance. Large gaps around air conditioner, and we were unable to block cold wind. Do not have high expectations. It is a YMCA, after all.

The location was great, and the staff were pleasant. Price was good for Manhatten.

The privacy in the shared bathroom is very limited. Facility is very old.

It was great. You get what you pay for and this was exceptionally cheap for NYC. Location was amazing, staff great. Its ultimately a cheap hostel so facilities/room are as such. No complaints from us. Thanks for a great stay

Bunk beds were okay. The floor in the room felt like my middle school. Some of the bathrooms were pretty messy. But not too bad.

I loved the location and use of the most amazing gym. I liked the size of the room and I love having a safe.

The tv didn't work and the ac stopped working during the night. The front told me the next morning I should have come down at 11:00 at night to let them know. I said are you serious I'm in bed I'm in my pajamas I already had someone in my room at 9:00 fixing the TV and said the TV was not working and the story and worked on the AC which lasted apparently 2 hours you want me to come down at 11:00 at night in my pajamas to tell you that I don't think so.

I was in the 13 Floor, the Ventilation on the rooftop is very loud and even with closed Windows. I needed earplugs to be able to sleep.

The possibility to Access to a pool, Sauna and well Equiped gym. All in all the room and bath room were in a good shape, even they are not that New.

The staff has a newyorker mood. They are unfriendly, don't care of immigrants. I felt xenophobia there. The only friendly staff were the cleainig staff, which were latin.

Bathrooms and room have good hygiene. The location is great, near to metro stations, Central Park and main avenues.
