Best-known for the stunning Duomo, Florence is full of amazing buildings and its historic centre. The Ponte Vecchio, a 14th-century bridge holding a multitude of shops on its edges is a stunning example and provides a truly unforgettable view.
Dig into more of the city’s historical past at the Basilica of Santa Croce, a Franciscan church full of great artwork and the burial place of Italian greats: Michelangelo and Galileo. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s finest art museums and the Pitti Palace is not far behind.
For great dining, the Santa Croce district has countless options and the unique lampredotto is Florentine fast-food with a 1000-year old history. Many consider the local gelato, Italian ice-cream, to be the best in the world.

Loved Florence. It's so rich in history, art, culture, good food (and gelato) and amazing leather. Enjoyed drinking wine from caffe pucci's wine window, eating lunch and dinner at the Mercato Centrale, shrimp spaghetti at Zara's trattoria and florentine steak from Dall'oste and the lovely people. We were there for 9 days and it wasn't enough. There are just many things to see and do! Florence is a pedestrian city and almost all the must-see are within walking distance. This makes driving in and out of the city center stressful because the council have ZTL zones and one can get fined for entering them. If you must drive you need to coordinate parking with your hotel. They will point you to private garages that could "exempt" you from entering a ZTL zone. Where you can, join a guided tour. They usually have the advantage to skip the long lines and show the highlights of a museum or gallery. The free walking tours are the best. They are tip-based, hence, the guides give you an extensive tour and comprehensive information. Be budget prepared, too. Florence can be quite expensive.

The Academia and Uffixi gallery were amazing. We could not get into the duomo because of massive crowds. Between the crowds and non stop smoking, we were not as enchanted by Florence as we’d expected.

Our room had a nice view if you stick your head out the window.it was clean, the elevator was stuck one day so we had to climb,no big deal.the worst part was the noise! Even with windows closed we got about 4-5 hours of rest. It was very noisy. I wouldn’t recommend this place for that reason.

The city is beautiful and pleasant in the early hours of the morning, the museums and churches are full of art.
unfortunately, the city is not clean, very crowded with tourists. Poor maintenance of the streets. There is no personal security outside the city center at night. There is a lack of security in the side streets.
Highly recommend a walk in the Boboli Gardens

Florence is a bustling city evidencing history on every street corner and all the in-between. Line ups were terrible to contend with and we passed on a few of the really important sites as a result. Cars and motorcycles completed for road use with pedestrians and sometimes I wondered if drivers cared. Shop owners and restaurant staff for the most part were wonderful to deal with. We had many who helped us throughout our stay.
The breakfast was included, and so delicious. We loved the breakfast.
"american breakfast" was found here so it was good when we were in italy for a month and missed eggs and bacon. They also had Italian style breakfast. Coffee and water were free around the clock
The staff was so nice, they really seemed to be looking out for us as we were young solo travelers, and they were so very helpful and so nice.
The room and bathroom beyond met our expectation, it was so clean and so beautiful. The nicest hotel I have ever stayed in.
The location is perfect. So convenient when arriving by train and really close to all of the Florence places of interest. The hotel was nicely appointed, modern but traditional, and we actually enjoyed coming back to the room and sitting in the dappled sunlight with the window open - great way to re-energise before heading back out to see the sights! Having chilled filtered water on tap was also fantastic!
The breakfast, whilst not perfect, was very good for what we'd expect in Italy, with delicious, freshly baked, pastries.
This is a hidden gem in the hills of Florence, just 15 minutes drive from the city center. Martina and her husband are perfect hosts, gave us the best tips for restaurants (Zocchi) and ice cream (Badiani). The apartment was spacious, well-equipped, and our terrace let no wish unanswered: full view of the Hills of Tuscanny right in front of our eyes. The pool is amazing. We are often in Italy but this was clearly one of the best experiences.
We stayed 9 days in Italy travelling to 5 cities. Arguably this is one of the top 2 hotels we stayed. Rooms were huge, double what we normally get. It’s clean and looks like newly renovated. The staff was one of the best and extra helpful.. nothing beats this location at this price. Beds were comfy and toilets was generously heap with all the necessary. We did not try the breakfast though
There is only one word to describe this hotel and the hospitality: Excellence!
We were on our honeymoon arranged by an excellent Italian organizer and Host throughout Italy over 18 days, amazing.
This hotel was the perfect fit for Florence, among all the other unique experiences, reserved only for us thanks to our Hosts' exclusive access to incredible places and experiences.
My boyfriend and I loved every aspect about this hotel. The staff everyday were soooooo nice and attentive. Any questions we had, they helped us. The breakfast area was sooo cute. I wish we sat out on the garden. Our room was a lot more spacious than I expected and it was just perfect. We loved everything about it. We plan to return to Italy and DEFINITELY stay at this hotel.
Rocco was a magnificent host! he
was there to greet us at check in.
he prepared the most fabulous breakfast
each morning with the best cappuccino
that we had in Italy! The property was close
to every place that we wanted to see
in Florence. I would definitely recommend
the Boutique Hotel Hugo to anyone
who wants to experience Florence in comfort!
Our first time to Italy and Florence was our first stop. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful; particularly Eleanor. Special mention to Aman who pampered us with such delicious spread of breakfast every morning. Thank you for your warm hospitality in making Florence a memorable place to visit.
We could look out of our window and see the Duomo. It was a VERY convenient location. We could come back to the room in midday and relax for a bit before heading out into Florence once again. Breakfast is served at another hotel up the street. It was the best breakfast by far out of the four places that I stayed during my trip to Italy.
We couldn’t have been more pleased with this gem in Florence! Best place we stayed in all of our Italy travels. Wonderful bathroom and beautiful high ceilings. We felt so comfortable.
The location is perfect. And the staff are the most helpful people we’ve dealt with our whole trip. 10/10. If we ever go back we would stay here again!
The staff was great, the breakfast was amazing. And also the bedrooms, nice bed, nice shower and bathroom. And the location is absolutely perfect, very near from central station, central market and near the main attractions of Firenze.
No words for Spadai, it was definitely the best hotel we stayed during our 15 day trip to Italy.
Lucia, where do we start? You are amazing! By far the best stay to date travelling Italy. The photos do no justice. Clean, spacious, perfect WiFi, just everything PERFECT,PERFECT,PERFECT!! The upstairs terrace is to die for, THE BEST VIEWS IN FLORENCE!!! Thank you Lucia for an unbelievable stay. We will be back 👍👍🙏🙏
It is about a 30 minute walk to most attractions that would you would want to see in Florence. Good pool, great view from the pool. Breakfast was basic for an Italy inclusive (this is our 4th Italy Hotel this trip).
Pool was great for getting out of the hot august sun.
best hotel so far from my entire italy trip last month! got the upgrade, staff is super friendly and even give us pasta as gift. the location also very convenient specifically if you travel by train as it very close with train station.
we were traveling around a lot throughout northern Italy and the hotel graciously took our luggage early so that we could explore Florence before checking in. we really appreciated that and also loved how clean it was there!
One of the best apartments I’ve ever experienced in Italy. Beautiful decorations, well equipped, enthusiastic staff and perfect location: you can enjoy the view of Florence. the Dom is just outside of your window!
Nice hotel, nice staff. Very close to city center - 7 minute by walking. Everything's clean and rooms are comfy. Everywhere is air conditioner, which is important for Italy.
