It is very centrally placed - either within walking distance to most places or accessible by trams. Yet it is a short distance away from the madding crowd. It’s very safe. The staff are all very friendly. Elias registered us in even when we checked in quite early. Toby was extremely helpful when we needed information, extra hangers and utensils. The girls were all very welcoming and cheerful as we went in and out each day.

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, whose highlight is walking through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognisable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the colour of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping centre has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this is not the city’s only sporting heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules football and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodation from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

We were able to travel to nearby Carlton for a great meal at Papa Ginos and then we found an excellent Thai restaurant in Collins Street down in Docklands, the city shops were easy to access and free trams helped. The city was crowded but we managed easily and there were lots of things happening. We had excellent access by public transport from Winston Apartments Docklands. A great place to stay.

Only got to stay overnight so no time to do anything. I ensured my car could remain at my accommodation while I attended my appointment. Always check with your accommodation about parking. Some can arrange parking for you at a cost and some do not have parking at all and you have to find your own, also at an extra cost.
I love Melbourne though, so many things to do and see. Before travelling home I went to Altona to see their new Pier.

Loved the sights we viewed and the places we visited but the traffic is horrendous and the lack of free parking obvious plus being too expensive but in saying that most drivers were courteous. Food choices were in abundance whereever you went to suit anyones palate with prices depending on what you were looking for and we will definitely be back sooner than later Cheers.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Lume to see the Da Vinci Exhibition. Found the public transport very efficient and also used the Heritage Tram to complete the Circle Line trip.
The trip from SA was arranged to see the musical "Sunet Boulevard" a show which we were very pleased to have made the effort to see.

Staying in the centre of Melbourne is good to be able to walk around and see the many parts of Central Melbourne and visit galleries and museums and shops etc. Trams and/or buses are great for getting you around and out further to some areas. We recommend visiting Lygon Street for the many eateries on offer. Como House is interesting to visit, so ensure you go on a tour day as the inside is the really interesting part and you can't access it unless on a tour. There are lots of choices of what to do and see in Melbourne, so allow yourself plenty of time to see things, but also to enjoy the ambience of sitting at a cafe and sipping on a cappuccino too.

We brought our granddaughter to Melbourne for a special holiday for her 8th birthday.
Did the things she wanted to do and they exceeded expectations. Went to the Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium, Legoland, Melbourne Museum. We had a wonderful holiday. We ate at various places and did a lot of shopping.
Melbourne is such a great place. New and old blend together well.
Taxi drivers were friendly and courteous and some of them were very informative about locations and places to go.
Great apartment - close to everything (South Melbourne markets, Shrine of remembrance, Crown Casino, Southbank, Melbourne CBD) - Really easy to access public transport. There are also a number of the electric scooters available in the area which are quite fun. Overall my partner and I had a great stay - The staff were lovely, the apartment was lovely and kitchen well-equipped. Would stay again :)
Also make sure you check out the viewing deck on level 20 if there is availability - beautiful panoramic views of the city's skyline.
This place is super-convenient to get to, being literally just over the road from Southern Cross train station and the Skybus terminus (to and from the airport), and on the edge of the CBD. Walking distance to multiple city highlights. The hotel itself is a charming historic building retaining an Art Deco vibe both inside and out. King room fairly standard features for this price range but the bed was particularly comfortable which is the highest priority for us.
I wouldn't call this a holiday destination hotel or anything like that, but for a clean, comfortable stay a short distance from Melbourne airport, well serviced by public transport, and reasonably close to the CBD it is perfect. Anywhere else I would have said it was expensive for what it was, but given the prices of other hotels the same distance or closer to the airport, it was reasonable as these are very expensive in Melbourne.
The hotel is very nicely designed, bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel tv in the room also had free movies available without the need for streaming platforms. Location was ok- 14 minute walk from Skybus terminal in the city that connects travellers to Melbourne airport. Something to note: the hotel is on the outskirts of the central busy CBD area (approx 30-40min walk or 15 Min uber).
Room was small but clean and comfortable for our one night stay. Staff are helpful and efficient. The perfect hotel for a short Melbourne stay. Central location across the road from Southern Cross station and the Skybus to the airport. Just across the Yarra from the Southbank precinct, very near the Docklands precinct and on the edge of the CBD. The free tram around the CBD goes right by the front door
The hotel is super central to the CBD and Southbank. It is within walking distance to amazing restaurants and bars and Flinders Station is less than a 5 minute walk so you have easy train access. The room was so super comfortable. We loved our 2 night stay and I will definitely be staying here when I'm back in Melbourne. The price was fantastic too for a 5-star property!
While not in the center of the CBD, this hotel is located on a lovely park as well as on the #30 and #35 tram lines and the Flagstaff station. This makes it easy to access all parts of Melbourne. A huge plus is that Jazz Corner is a short walk from the Quenn Victoria Market.
The rooms are upscale and well appointed, and include an in-room washer and dryer.
Great location - short walk to CBD and a 1 minute walk to tram. Staff were exceptional and very friendly, they really added to the ‘5 Star’ feel of the hotel. Loved the old world charm of the hotel and the way it’s held onto the theme/look of its history. Despite being in the CBD and on a fairly busy road, the room was practically silent - amazing!
This is a hidden little gem. It's a simple hotel but comfortable and located right in the heart of the CBD of Melbourne. It's a perfect place to explore from or get to the office from and is surrounded by delicious eateries for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We will definitely consider Causeway Hotel again next time we need to stay in the city.
It was extremely convenient location for me due to my late arrival and the bus connection option I used from the airport to the CBD Melbourne. It was just a few minutes walk from the terminal bus stop to the hotel, which was quick and easy even with my moderate luggage load.
Location right next to the Vic Market and short walk to tram stop which meant easy access to CBD, China town, docklands, Southbank, North Melbourne. It was clean and new. The kitchen was great. Kids loved the bunk beds. Swimming pool was good. Staff were really friendly.
The location was great. It was close to the Queen Victoria Market as well as Flagstaff station so it was very easy to transport to places in Melbourne. You can easily get to Docklands, CBD and anywhere near to the city. The park view and night view was beautiful as well.
The location was good as we had family in the area. Very handy to trams and was close to CBD. Hotel is a little dated now but room was clean and a good size. Staff were very friendly. We used the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and enjoyed the meals.
The hotel location is only walk 2 minutes to the tram and it talk only 10 minutes to city CBD by tram. Its very convenient place that close to many stores and you can get myki card at 7-11 nearby. Also the staff was so nice and the room was clean too.
1. Very central location in Melbourne CBD.
2. Accessible to free city trams, Queen Victoria Market, nearby eateries.
3. Complete kitchen facilities with good breakfast.
4. Plenty of bathrooms, and most importantly very clean.
5. Lovely staff.
From the front desk staff and concierge to room quality and location - excellent hotel. I highly recommend it for anyone traveling to Melbourne. The location was perfect for events in the city or excursions outside the CBD.
The hotel is located right at the heart of Melbourne CBD. It is accessible to most tram zones, and there are so many cafes and restaurants around the area.
