Reception was eventually fine but there was noone present when we arrived. The hotel was tired and our potentially pleasant room needed redecoration.
This spacious, family-run Edwardian hotel dates back to 1901 and offers free WiFi and free parking on site. It is situated in Folkestone, close to the M20 motorway.

Nice hotel, good location only about 20 min walk into the main town. Has parking which was good.
They also have a bar in the hotel and the staff at the bar were really friendly.

Basic hotel, but perfectly adequate and convenient for one night before catching an early ferry to France the next morning. The Bella Italia restaurant on site was rather nicer than expected.
Overall, pretty good value for money.

Megan at the front desk deserves recognition! She was so pleasant, helpful & professional & went out of her way to make me feel welcome & give me information about the area. I had a pet seagull (Gulliver) who visited my window each evening & listened to all my ramblings, he was lovely. The bar staff werev also amazing. The area was quiet with a great view and a short walk to busses, restaurants and the ferry. Extended my stay 3 times.
Situated on top of the Leas Cliff, overlooking the English Channel, the Best Western Clifton Hotel Folkestone offers 78 beautiful en suite bedrooms, many with sea views.

A very pretty Church - a very busy main road with very fast traffic & it was late in the day so we didn’t venture very far! A few walks were visible from the road but walking bouts required on the day of our visit.

The staff very friendly , nice atmosphere in the pub, warm and cosy , nice open fires .
Would have preferred home made fries with our meal rather than frozen as the rest of the meal was a very good standard .
Toast in the morning ok but again packet bread rather than fresh un cut loaf, let it down for the standard of the pub .
The hotel/Inn was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It had a very plush feel to it. We only had the breakfast as ate out with other members of the family. The breakfast was of good quality and offered a decent range although I should have liked porridge or granola. The coffee was a bit weak but then I like it strong. The staff were very friendly and were always on hand to help.
Decor was lovely, staff really friendly and service was quick. Room had lovely bath and shower, unusual layout which we loved as something different from usual bland hotel room. Location close to Folkestone but also easy to get to Canterbury, location in Alkham valley gave nice views to see from the bar and restaurant.
Staff super friendly, room was an unexpected delight and very comfortable. We tend to always stay at the more corporate hotels near the tunnel but this stay has made us rethink and would certainly stay here in preference in future. Breakfast was also delicious and we took advantage of the lovely bar the night before:)
Firstly, beautiful surroundings with easy and swift access to the Channel Tunnel
Secondly, delightfully and stylishly decorated with charming attention to detail throughout the hotel and in our room
Thirdly, an excellent restaurant - haunch of venison recommended
And finally very good value for money
Hotel location was perfect for the area that we wanted to explore. Deal and St Margaret’s bay were within easy reach.
Room size was good and the food was excellent. All the staff were friendly and very helpful which added to the enjoyment of our visit.
Staff is very helpful and professional. Especially the manager, Michael, who went above and beyond our expectations to help us during our stay. The hotel is very clean and the bathrooms are very new and modern. The bed was very clean and comfortable.
The views are very fine from the hotel, and the nearby narrow street and church invite exploration. The hotel is comfortable enough, very clean and professionally managed.
