Very clean and quiet which are the main things for me. The rooms were sparsely decorated and would benefit from softening features.

Loved the hotel and the remarkable reno job. Great location on the edge of old town and right on the river walk.
Check in went well despite some disagreement among staff about the ability to park short term in the pedestrian area. It is a little tricky finding the 'opening' to the street. Parking lot is indeed in sight of the hotel but not what you imagine by that statement.

A very interesting old town. Camino de Santiago markers can be spotted on some paving slabs between churches. River trip is worth while and the architecture of the Guggenheim is stunning. The park near the Fine Arts Museum is very relaxing.
Try Pintxos for lunch and try the salted cod if you dare!

Bilbao is a small city so 3/4 days is plenty to see all the main attractions. There is a great range of restaurants to choose from, many do not serve food until after 7.30pm and many close during the afternoon. The Guggenheim and Fine Art Gallery are worth a visit, also take the Funacular to get a great view of the city, this is just beside the Old Town. We took a trip by metro out to Getxo for a day by the sea and this was well worth the trip.

I liked everything.
I liked everything. The transport system was excellent, metro, busses and trams. The people were friendly and Bilbao is a laid back city, no one in a rush. The bars/cafes, restaurants, etc were great and very reasonably priced. There is plenty to see and do, Guggenheim museum and San Malmes stadium tour were two of the highlights. The parks are fab to just sit and relax and the coast is just a 20 minute metro ride. The funicular ride is worth it and the view of the city from the top is fantastic. The old town is a maze of narrow streets with shops, bars/cafes and restaurants. Again a short ride away on the metro. The Baskian restaurant/brewery in the main shopping centre serves authentic Basque food and is very reasonable. The Wicklow bar in the centre of the city is the place to go for a great draught pint of Guinness in a proper glass, small, but always popular and a friendly welcome by the owner, Mick. The only down side that I found was that there are not many public toilets, but you can always dip into a bar/café and maybe another tipple and some tapas! I will definately return.

Excellent place for a long weekend visit.
Excellent place for a long weekend visit. The city has been given a good upgrade on public areas and there are very nice walks and spaces to chill along the Nervion river, the old part of the town or the new city.
Good transport system and good connection to the airport and train station.
Great place for pintxos and chiquiteo (tapas and bar hoping) as well as modern art (guggenheim museum really stands out), or just simply chill in a nice urban setting. Plenty of shopping spots too.

The Guggenheim of course, but the city is elegant, bright and bustling. The bridges alone are worth going there for. We ate at small cafes and pincho bars of which there are countless numbers. There is an underground metro and tram routes, but we walked. There is a pleasant walk along the river.

Bilbao is a beautiful city set on the river , lots to see and do when there and you definately need 3 days to cover it all , we went out to the bay of biscay on one of the days and it was worth it ,we travelled on the orange line to Niguri got off there walked the coast line and got back on metro at Areeta back to abando where out hotel is. My main tip is try to get a main meal in the middle of the day as we found it hard to eat at night apart from Tapas bars which really didnt suit a gluten intolerant person in the party .
Very nice historical building, helpful staff, excellent location for the Guggenheim Museum, theatre, Old town etc. You can take a bus from airport to get to the hotel. It takes 20 min or so and costs €3. The bus will drop you just across the street. You should visit some bars in the old town where they serve amazing tapas and wine, and you will eat with locals. There are 13 Michelin restaurants and their prices seem quite good as well. Bilbao is an amazing city and I will definitely come back.
The arrival by car was smooth and there is a valet parking underneath the hotel, so very convenient. Location is excellent, right across the Bilbao Guggenheim. Excellent breakfast is on the top floor terrace overlooking the Museum. Only 15 min walk to the old town, and many nice restaurants on the way there. We also enjoyed the stroll along the river on the north bak towards the old town. Room was very nice, especially the bath room.
The room (size, layout, amenities) was excellent, the location of the hotel is great (right next to the Guggenheim and a 5 minute walk into the centre of Bilbao, on the river and a 20 min walk to the old town). Breakfast and the hotel bar are great. Francis on reception is a wonderful member of staff. She greeted us warmly and was helpful and efficient each day with the queries I had about the town.
The Gran Hotel Domine is one of my favourite hotels. The staff are amazing, helpful, proactive and always smiling. The location is across the street from the Guggenheim and we were greeted every morning and evening with beautiful views of this astounding monument. And of course Puppy! The food is good, the atmosphere is good, the location is fabulous. What a great place to stay!
Very spacious, spotless apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a hall, sitting room and fully equipped kitchen. A perfect base for family or group of friends to explore the Basque country of northern Spain. The best part is the location; right at the heart of the old town, opposite the Ribera Market and church of San Anton.
Second time staying in this hotel and after a great first experience, it lived up to expectation second time round. Located on the edge of the old town close to all the bars, restaurants and shopping in Bilbao and walking distance to lots of interesting sights.
The room was huge and spotless and the staff were very helpful .
Great location. The metro and tram lines are so easy to use and close by. Get the barik card as soon as you arrive. Hotel stops serving food at 11pm but call Italian pizzeria, Donar kebab 944040564! We got pizza and cans of coke delivered at 1am both nights!! Can’t wait for our next trip to Bilbao!!
Location is on the edge of the Old Town that offers the historic charm of Bilbao as well as many dining options. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. FYI, the hotel supplies L’Occitane bath gel, shampoo, and conditioner. Also, compliments to the staff especially Elvira and Amaya.
Great location in the center of Bilbao with easy access to the old town and the Guggenheim Museum. Also easy from the airport by car (or by taxi). Some great restaurants in the locality with traditional and modern cuisine s required. A public car park is in the basement of the hotel.
Comfy hotel with friendly staff. Although it had been decorated well, some of the details were a little tired - scratched walls, etc - but generally it was nice. The area was ok and it was walkable to old town, but it wasn't my favourite area of Bilbao that I've stayed in.
Perfect location right in the old town of Bilbao. Friendly staff, spacious rooms with a modern design and very comfortable beds/pillows. Although there are a lot of restaurants and shops next to the hotel, there was no bothering noise from outside.
The front desk was very nice, cordial and helpful to English speaking guests, even at an unreasonable check in time. I will be staying here and recommending this hotel to others who visit Bilbao, an affordable hotel right at the front.
The location of this hotel for exploring central Bilbao and the old town is perfect. Superb value for money for ultra sleek, clean and modern rooms and decor. Small discount for car park near hotel provided - nice surprise on arrival.
Everything about the Bilder Boutique Hotel was excellent. 15/20 minute walk to the Guggenheim, right by the Old Town, 5 minutes walk to train station. Anima on the front desk is so friendly and helpful.
Everything! This is absolutely the best place I have stayed in out of many different sorts of apts and hotels over the past couple of months. Plus, Bilbao is an unexpectedly nice place to visit.
A very characterful small hotel absolutely in the center of Bilbao’s Casco Viejo, yet relaxing and quiet. Very friendly and helpful host who let me enter the room early.
Location was perfect, service was great. Breakfast was good. Customer service exceeded expectations. Will recommend this hotel to my friends in Bilbao. Thank you
