The location and roof top patio was exceptional.... the hotel itself is a bit run down and messy. Front desk staff.... one of helpful... the other was sarcastic. The airport shuttle service, a separate company was worth it.

They opened the pool ahead of schedule in response to requests. The staff generally did absolutely everything they could to be supportive and helpful. Their patience with some rude Americans was just soooo gracious. And of course the rooftop restaurant is wonderful. Both food and view.

FAQs about hotels in Athens

A Dynamic City with 3400 Years of History

With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history whilst embracing the future. Take a stroll back in time through the neoclassical streets of the Plaka, where you will find tavernas serving tantalising souvlaki and mousaka, street vendors and live entertainment.

A trip to the Parthenon and the Agora top most lists and can also be appreciated from a distance by walking along the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street, which is away from the busy crowds downtown.

Changing the guard occurs every hour on the famous Syntagma Square. From here Ermou Street provides shopaholics with a fashionable retail sanctuary. The up-market districts of Kolonaki and Kifisia are also bursting with fancy boutiques, galleries and bars.

Athens contains some of the finest museums in the world such as the National Archaeological, Acropolis and Benaki Museums. From Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus, this is a city bustling with the old and new. On Booking.com you can find everything from modern hotels to a room in a classical building.

Make sure you book your tickets to the acropolis ahead of time early morning or evening are the best times. Safe and very clean city it does have a lot of written graffiti. Make sure you have the Gyros at the metro square by the flea market. Go to the restaurant behind the little church and in the corner of the walking street. They have the take away ones but if you get a beer they will let you sit at the tables. Also don’t forget to enjoy the gelato, and the street corn on the cob

Lots of sights, cafes, taverns and liveliness everywhere. Reliable transport around the city by metro and tram. I love going to Athens. I recommend visiting this city in April, May, October and November. But we swam in the sea even in January ;-) We also always shop at Hondos Center on Omonia Square...

I have mixed feelings about Athens as a whole.

I have mixed feelings about Athens as a whole. I knew it was a big city but it had more a big city feel versus a traditional Greek feel than I expected. The main strip with the tourist attractions was good, not too crowded in early May which was nice. But the city does have a really big and sad drug and homeless problem. It wasn't safe for me, as a solo female traveler, to walk around past 7pm and I saw some things that were really heartbreaking to witness. The history of the city and the food were amazing and beautiful but you just have to be mentally and emotionally prepared to take in both sides of the city while you're there as it's unavoidable.

Museum, ancient monuments, and open locations are wonderful.

Museum, ancient monuments, and open locations are wonderful. Also the climate at the end of April that allows you to walk around is perfect. You have absolutely to try local restaurants that deliver traditional dishes of Greek cuisine. Prepare in advance your visit, because there are many events in Athens and it's better to arrive prepared not to miss nice and interesting events.

I have never been to Athens before, but this was my first trip here and I absolutely loved it. The food is delicious and the prices are quite similar to other countries I have visited, so I did not find them expensive. If you walk around and explore, you will find many economic and excellent options for food. I did not face any issues related to transportation. However, I heard from the locals that it's important to be careful with your bag and phone and avoid wearing gold jewellery to avoid any unpleasant situations.

Staff was very nice, i asked for early check in in advance and they cleaned the room earlier so we could get in. Very center location, restaurant and supermarket nearby. Rooftop with Acropolis view is real bonus. It's not a brand new hotel but its clean and comfortable. Breakfast was standard with egg ham cheese and several greece pastry. But no complain with the price and location its worth the money. We rent family room and turned out its 2 rooms with connecting door and 2 bathroom! Great one !

    - Excellent location in the heart of Athens. The surrounding streets are crammed with traditional tavernas and restaurants, many with Acropolis views. - The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. - They pay attention to detail in their breakfast with all their items being freshly made and delicious. It is a very nice hotel the staff are so kind and helpful. Would recommend to go and visit here add this to your tour of Greece.

The staff is exceptional in their professionalism and friendliness. The rooftop was cozy in the winter. The welcome drinks, regular drinks, and food were always delicious. The rooms felt luxurious and were always clean. When I return to Athens, I’ll definitely be returning to Green Suites!

The breakfast was quite gthowever the coffees varied from day to day. It was surprising to find a hotel of this quality using a big coffee urn. Other hotels we have stayed at in Greece have machines where you can make a variety of different fresh ground coffee. We were at the hotel for 5 nights. The breakfast was overall quite good with lots of variety. My only complaint was the coffee

Street area was a bit scruffy but no different to most of Athens city centre. Secure in the sense that the Police staion is next door. Getting access and the keys was easy. It is a very big apartment by Greece standards with no tv in the lounge room. It is located a minutes walk from Monastitaki station and an easy walk to the sites of Athens with no tv in the lounge room. Right across the road is a luggage storage shop, Mr John is more than happy to help with no tv in the lounge room.
