We booked the Grand Master Suite and chose the 2nd floor so we could have an amazing 360° view of Chiang Khong. Mai, the owner of Baan Sakuna is lovely. She is very accommodating to the needs of the guests. You will need a vehicle to get out and about as its located a fair distance from restaurants and shops if you were to go by foot. There is a fabulous restaurant on site. We ate there the first night, but wanted to explore what else was around on our second night. The rooms either have very thick walls or sound proofing as we were told that guests would be arriving quite late and apologies were given for the noise in advance, but there was no noise or disruption of our beautiful and peaceful 2 nights that we spent at Baan Sakuna.

Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort is surrounded by mountains, historic temples and hill tribe villages. This hotel is just wonderful. Everything perfect, clean and wonderful staff from the beggining to the end. Special thought to the team of Favola who was wonderful with us. Excellent breakfast with all what you need from western or Thai breakfast. I strongly recommend. It is 10/10.
