Hotel in Downtown Vancouver, Vancouver ( 0.2 miles)
Featuring a rooftop deck with a swimming pool and hot tub, this hotel is located in Vancouver's Coal Harbour District, and offers views of the North Shore Mountains. The quality of the hotel was very high relative to the cost of the room, the bed was comfortable, the room and bathroom were clean and spacious, the Toto toilet was a very interesting "amenity" and the view was really nice. Location was perfect to walk to points of interest, and the area is very nice, quiet, and safe. The only downside was that the hot-tub (which seemed very appealing) was too crowded to go in.

Lonsdale Quay and The Shipyards have lovely cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops, and further down, the craft brewery area is fun too. Lynn Canyon Park has lots of lovely walks, and the trip up Grouse Mountain has lots to offer everyone. Easy access to Downtown Vancouver using the Seabus.
City footpaths could do with a pressure clean. The litter around homeless or down on their luck folks is a turn off for visitors. General waste cleaning services are apparent but clean streets say the city cares about itself.
North Vancouver is a wonderful place to wander around or go by bike. There are lots of walking trails through the woods between houses. You can go between city and wilderness as you wish. The Seabus allows you to zip over to Vancouver without having to set foot in a car or find parking.
Fantastic: City planning; Buildings' architectural design, well balanced skyline; Integration with nature; Stanley park; boat tours; seaplane tours; sea to sky gondola; Whistler and the drive there; just driving around the city is a pleasure. Unbearable: drug epidemics surounding downtown and Chinatown; you can see it is spreading to other parts of the city centre; human degradation; hundreds of people completly left to their fate; drug traffic and drug slavery; profound sadness and preplexity on how all the Comunnity - City/Province/Country - allows/drove this state of things. Mere spectators, it seems. It is an absolute no-go zone that should be clearly marked as such to city visitors - which is not, and that is far from okay. Unless one has professional interest in doing so.
North Van was better than downtown in our opinion. Lots of bars, restaurants and retail. Harbourside was lovely and wherever you were around Lonsdale Avenue there seemed to be great transport links. Definitely recommend a trip to walk round Stanley Park!
We did a boat tour that was amazing which allowed us to see outside the city. It was so much fun. We used a zodiac as the boat and it was an awesome 3 hours. The downtown area was very sketchy, with an abundance of homeless people and drug addicts doing drugs in the streets. I have never seen anything like it in any other city I’ve visited.
