A great position for exploring Annaba. The hotel has character. The staff were helpful and hospitable. There was a running water problem for a couple of days, but this was a matter of which they have little if any control. My room had been cancelled before I arrived, due to problem with receiving advance payment. I contacted Booking.com who were apologetic and I think this was simply the fact that some Algerian systems don’t synch very with the outside world. It seemed impossible to get a reply, when I messaged the hotel through Booking.com. Again I think this was simply a technical issue. I have been with Booking.com for about 15 years and never had a similar problem. I will not stop using them.

As for the area, it is full of chaotic construction and difficult to access and transportation is very difficult there. I don't recommend it. After a long wait, from 11:00 am until 14:00 pm, I had to book a hotel room because the taxi I booked refused to wait with me any longer, and waiting for it also cost me a lot of money.☹️
