Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, wawat is located in Abu Simbel. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Wawat — it was truly the highlight of our entire trip in Egypt. The owner, Assem, was incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. His kindness and hospitality made us feel completely at home. Assem speaks excellent English, and communication with him was always smooth and easy, both before and during our stay. He was always available, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our visit as comfortable as possible. The guest house itself is clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly — which was such a relief in the summer heat — and there was strong Wi-Fi and reliable hot water. Everything was well maintained. This was by far the best place we stayed during our time in Egyp. If you’re planning to visit Abu Simbel, I 100% recommend Wawat. Assem is the best host you could hope for, and staying here truly felt like being welcomed into a home, not just a hotel.

Set in Abu Simbel, 2.1 km from Abu Simbel Temples, Applicators Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Strange, I only saw this one offered after searching a little. Well, the rooms are really nice and big, with attached bathroom and plenty of space, good lights, and a writing desk. Clean, cosy and comfortable. Breakfast is served normally in the basement because the kitchen is there, but you can ask for it on the roof and they will bring. They have good plans for expansion and want to open the cafe on the roof, which is nice and big and has a great view. The people here will do everything for you if you need it, just be patient and explain with translator if you find it hard. All the staff are very kind. I had a lovely 2 night stay and would stay here again

A must visit historical place with a experience of a lifetime. We visited the sun festival on 22nd February 2024. Though initially we were disappointed with the long queue, the queue moved up easily and we were able to see the rays from 'Ra' shinning on the three statues. While waiting at the queue take time off frrom gazing at the magnificient temple to look east towards the "Ra" rising over the lake. The paintings on the walls are flawless specially more so when you begin to imagine that they were done thousands of years ago. Must visit the nefartari temple. Try the coffee by Lake Nasser.
Definitely recommend staying overnight here. We booked a driver to take us (group of 3 adults and 2 children) leaving at 9:30am from Aswan, stopping for a quick 10mins at Aswan High Dam on the way, and then going to our guest house (Kabara Nubian Lodge) for lunch. We then went to the temples for about 3pm - this was definitely a good time to go as there were hardly any people there and by about 4:45pm we were able to get solo photos inside and outside the temples. We returned back to Kabara for dinner and then our driver took us back to see the light show - which I'd recommend. You also get to take a few night shots of the temple lit up. I chose to get up in the morning to view the temple at 6am, as this is when the light hits the front. This aspect definitely did look good - but when I arrived at about 6:05am there were already a couple of coach tours on site and by the time I left at around 7am it was super crowded with at least 15 coach loads of people. I hate to think how busy it would have been by 8am! It was definitely the right choice to visit the day before in the afternoon!
The hotel was excellent. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The rooms were excellent, the pools beautiful and food and drinks great. The location was just what we wanted and our visits to the Temples went very very well. The proximity to the lake was a real highlight. Will go back one day. I hope
In my case it was a check on my to do list. Went from Luxor day one, over night in Abu Simbel town and day 2 visit the tempel for 2 hours, then back to Luxor, a trip 2 x 500 km. Interesting to have seen, impressive story!
Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking. We visited around noon on a blessed day during Ramadan, so there weren't many tourists. At times, it felt like we had the entire sites to ourselves. You can walk or take a transport cart to the sites.
Visit the temples in the afternoon (after 03.00pm) because the is nobody (except perhaps some extroverted sceaming chinese girls - but once they are gone). Yes, it´s hotter than in the morning and the light is not prefect. but you will have the temple for yourself and you will be able to make perfect photos from inside.
