We had an incredible stay - the hosts were so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The views were absolutely stunning, with peaceful surroundings that offered the perfect place to relax. The location was ideal: a quiet area close to Hobbiton and just a short drive close to town and other amenities/experiences. Must try the tomahawk steak dinner! Overall it makes you feel like it’s a visit to mom and dad’s!

House was large, well appointed and very quiet. The bed was firm and the most comfortable I had slept on during our trip. Location is convenient to town, with a car, and to Hobbiton. Matamata Central Motel is a 20-minute drive from the Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm Tours, where parts of the Lord of the Rings trilogy were being filmed. Spacious and super clean! Even had tiny bottles of cream for coffee / tea.
