Bishop is a tiny town but very friendly. You feel secure to walk in the night looks like a town from a movie, there's a museum named "Laws" its really nice. If you like hikking there's Mt. Whitney its incredible up there, very peaceful with water falls and a little shop or cafe there.
Bishop is a nice place to visit.I love the Calvary Chapel Bishop church there. This is the second time we have stopped for a Sunday service while traveling. It is literally right there on the 395 hwy and a block from our motel.
Fun little town. It was just a stop over on a long road trip and didn't have any time to explore. I definitely plan on coming back - the 395 is my favorite CA highway! Check out Fossil Falls, Manzanar, and, if you like creepy, Randsburg (all south of Bishop). Schats Roadhouse has AWESOME burgers!
Bishop is an interesting little town that's conveniently located near Mammoth. I stayed there because I couldn't find any available rooms in Mammoth on a holiday weekend. I'm thinking of returning for a summer trip that would involve fishing and hiking.
It's a wonderful small town with beautiful views in every direction. Lots of fun things to do and very friendly. We love to attend Mule Days, but that's just one thing that Bishop offers! Hope it can keep the small town charm.
Great place to stay along 395 as it is the largest town in the area and has the most choices for lodging and dining. The bristlecone pine forest is nearby and definitely worth the drive up to the grove.
