Hands down our favourite hotel of the trip. The villa is gorgeous, plenty of space for the 5 of us. The whoops of joy as our kids explored the place said it all! Private pool, incredible food, attentive staff, wildlife all around. On our first evening, the guides took us to the red sand beach, about a 20 minute walk away. Very beautiful. You walk past a lake with baby crocs, can spot iguanas and other wildlife. Magical. We booked a safari through the hotel, the jeep was comfortable, and very reasonably priced. They packed us a breakfast to take with. The service was outstanding. We didn't want to leave.

A good location for a stress-free stay in Kirinda, Beach Bungalow Yala is a campground surrounded by views of the garden. Location is beautiful. Service was outstanding! Food was delicious and they accommodated my daughter’s celiac. He even cut us fresh coconuts. Room was very comfortable and clean.

Excellent place and service, Shoane, the owner was taking care of everything, great food and room. We also took the Safari with him , saw all the animals.

Located in Yala, Nil Sisila Beach Resort Yala offers beachfront accommodation a few steps from Palatupana Beach and provides various facilities, such as a private beach area, a garden and a terrace. Amazing place lost from everywhere. It’s so peaceful, nice beach 1 beside, and they cook the food, super yummy. The family is super kind, and offered me to sleep at the terrace cause elephants come to eat during the night and I saw one!

Treasure Rock, a property with a shared lounge, is situated in Kirinda, a few steps from Nidangala Beach, 15 km from Tissa Wewa, as well as 24 km from Bundala Bird Sanctuary. Amazing villa with amazing staff. Very beautifully decorated and cozy. Maybe the best breakfast I’ve had. Recommend

Extraordinary location on the dunes - so beautiful and remote yet very comfortable and wonderful service from the amazing Asela and team. Yala Safari’s were fantastic too. Highly recommend.

Featuring garden views, Yala Redhill provides accommodation with a garden, barbecue facilities and a shared lounge, around a few steps from Nidangala Beach. RedHill Yala is not a place for everyone. It is a place for someone with an open heart, not just open eyes. It is an utterly authentic place. We stayed as a group of four in a cottage by the rock. The living conditions are very basic, but in this place, it doesn’t matter. There is air conditioning in the rooms, but we chose to use only the fans. The place is looked after by siblings - Ranjeni and Munidasa. Their kindness and care surprised and touched us every day. When we went for an afternoon walk and it got dark, Munidasa made a few calls to locate us and sent a tuk-tuk to ensure we returned home safely. Every day, our hosts moved us with countless beautiful gestures, asking for nothing in return and gifting us with their warm smiles. We dined at RedHill Yala, and what appeared on our table was real homemade cuisine at its finest, prepared by Ranjeni, along with plenty of fresh fruits. You can also count on fully vegetarian meals if that’s your preference, as the hosts themselves are vegetarians. We also went on a safari organized by the owner – ask for the driver/guide named Eranga! He guarantees an unforgettable experience and the best spots for observing wildlife (highly rated by a photographer). The surrounding area of RedHill is a true paradise – a one-of-a-kind place. The enormous rocks surrounding the property protect it from the ocean and create an extraordinary landscape. On one side, there’s an endless empty beach, and on the other, a beach stretching nearly 2 km that leads to the village center. This is not the end of the world nor a total wilderness, but an evening walk in the area might not be entirely safe due to wild animals visiting this region. In the area, you’ll find a few local bars, one restaurant, and a paid swimming pool. The village itself seems forgotten by modern civilization, still bearing many marks of the 2004 tsunami that hit this region. However, RedHill gives you experience worth everything – on one condition – your open heart!

Fabulous luxury lodges with very large covered decks set in a very peaceful rural setting close to Yala and close to the beach. A very calming, tranquil place to stay. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable.. The bathroom is as large as many hotel rooms in itself and the additional outside cold shower is a very unusual touch. (And the indoor shower is excellent, too.) The lodges are arranged to enhance privacy and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The roof top swimming pool has a beautiful view over the sea and the food is excellent. Monkeys sometimes visit the grounds, as do a few cows and even occasionally an elephant - though not when we were there. A wide variety of birds surround you in the trees. The manager arranged an excellent half day safari to Yala for us with a very knowledgeable guide.
