The place was very cosy and the rooms were comfortable ! All the staff was just amazing and very helpful ! Thank you for your kindness 🙏🏼 We made the one night jungle trek and it was just an incredible experience ! The camp was very privative and we were alone in the middle of nowhere. Words could not describe how amazing was our experience. Since we arrived, Bryan welcomed us with a very big smile and kindness. The food, the location, the room, everything was perfect and way beyond our expectations. The jungle trekking with the staff of Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey was anonther level of perfection. Rachid and Gunawan were more than professional and helpful during the whole trip, big thanks to them. The trek was wonderful, the food also was so delicious , the lunch and the dinner in the camp where we had a special member of the team who cooked for us traditional dishes. We highly recommend both the guesthouse and the trip in the jungle with this super team. Thank you a lot for this lifetime memorable experience.

We had most beautiful stay in lucky bamboo - the wonderful Garden near by the river and right in front of the jungle is awesome and the restaurant offers so much different (also vegetarian) local and fresh cooked food, it‘s amazing. We spent 5 days here and just fell in love with the place and the people! We really recommend booking a jungle tour in lucky bamboo, the guides Kella and Rasta are more than qualified and so sweet and friendly people. Also Johnny, the host is full of hospitality and really wants you to feel like home. It’s a magical place and we really look forward to visit our little jungle-family again! We like to travel a lot and for sure this is one of the best places we have ever visited. Situated next to the river with the most beautiful views. All the persons working here made our stay very special, making music at night and playing cardgames with the kids. The food also was delicious. We did three different excursions (village tour, jungle trek for 2 days and bat cave) and everything was very well organized. Also from the moment you make the reservation, there is a very good contact with the host for all your questions. We definitely want to return one day.

I did the 2 day/1 night jungle trek with these guys and was extremely satisfied with the experience. The guides are knowledgeable about the local wildlife and are all very friendly. They did their bests to entertain us at the campsite after dinner, and cooked amazing food on the trek. The accommodation and restaurant at cheeky monkeys is excellent as well. I can highly recommend doing your jungle trekking with these guys!

Bayu, Jaka and their whole team provided the best customer service I’ve ever experienced—genuinely warm, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile. I felt completely safe and incredibly welcome throughout my stay, which made all the difference for a solo female traveller. Every staff member I interacted with went above and beyond to make sure my visit was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They helped me organise the jungle trek which I was initially nervous about but they made sure I was comfortable with the options. I will definitely be back for a longer stay. The trek they organised was fantastic too. My guides - Ponidi and Naufal - were knowledgable, friendly and made sure we had a unique experience.

The place was so lovely and clean, bed was very soft and comfortable. Great location, nice breakfast. But the best thing about it was the staff, they was so friendly and accommodating. We will miss them.

Everything. Everyone involved in the accommodation and its services were so friendly and helpful. They always had a smile on their faces and engaged in talk so you feel very comfortable being there. Recently they opened their restaurant which serves amazing food so I had no need to eat elsewhere, plus canter for certain dietary requirements. Plus a beautiful garden to enjoy and 3 lovely dogs too.

    I ended up staying at the other building the owner has that’s further up the street due to availability. The room was perfect, with an ensuite and fan and a really lovely balcony with a view overlooking the village. It was called ‘Dina.s’. I highly recommend staying there- the owner and his wife were very welcoming and helpful. I think this location is actually nicer than the main building people stay at beside the river.

    There was nothing we didn’t like. Comfortable beds, beautifully decorated room, amazing tropical garden, delicious food in the restaurant, the well organised and executed overnight tour into the jungle (yes, we were lucky to see orangutans in the wild) But it is the people working at the Orangutan discovery villa that made our stay unforgettable - highly hospitable, accommodating, genuine in every way. If we are ever to go back to Bukit Lawang it will be the this place.
