We had an incredible stay at Yala Wild Hut. From the moment we booked, the communication was excellent—they reached out via WhatsApp with all the necessary details, making everything easy and straightforward. Upon arrival, we were picked up by jeep from the entrance, as the road to the campsite is a bit rough, but it’s only a 5-minute ride. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with refreshing drinks, and the staff assisted us with our luggage. The food was delicious—lunch was flavorful and a bit spicy for our taste, but still very tasty. After lunch, we took a complementary walk around the campsite, which was a great way to enjoy the surroundings. We then watched a stunning sunset while enjoying some snacks prepared by the staff. The host was incredibly friendly, attentive, and polite, making us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. Dinner was also fantastic, and the following morning, we went on a safari. While we didn’t have luck spotting leopards, we saw elephants, crocodiles, birds, deer, and peacocks. The safari was a memorable experience, though the driver seemed a bit rushed at times. Before the safari, we were served coffee and tea, which was a nice touch. Afterward, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast, and the staff arranged our transportation back. The jeep took us to the entrance, and once again, the staff helped with our luggage. The hut itself was charming, well-maintained, and very clean. The beds were comfortable, and the large bathroom had everything we needed. The location truly made us feel immersed in nature while still providing all the comforts. There were also friendly and well-behaved dogs on the property, adding to the homely feel. Overall, we had an unforgettable experience at Yala Wild Hut and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, nature-filled stay with great hospitality!

There is nothing to dislike about this place. The rooms are new, clean, cozy and they have AC. The bathrooms are large and sparly clean. The family that owns the place are very friendly and helpful. The food they prepare is delicious. The lobby offers a generous space to relax and work. You can even enjoy the sight of crocodiles swimming or sunbathing in the river from the terrace above. I can’t recommend this place enough! We have enjoyed it

Super nice hosts! I had a warm welcome, amd they made sure that I'll see the most while I'm there. Room is comfortable and quiet. I even got a bonus breakfast which was very sweet. Would recommend this place if you are in Tissamahara!

This Villa is insane! I mean there is even a slider on the stairs 🤪! It’s even better than on the pictures! The ambient is so calm and peaceful and the staff is wonderful too. The food, OMG delicious! we had a dinner with our friends it was just perfect! We stood 2 nights in this villa but could have stay easily 1 week!

Incredible place - cozy, exotic, calm with tropical off grid atmosphere. I've never stayed at a cabin with 9.6 rate on booking.com but when we arrived, I understood why it had such a great score. The cabine is right next to a beautiful lake. We had our own crocodile!!!! relaxing under our balcony. No worries, it's safe. They don't go ashore because of the fence so it's just a very nice Croc-view :) . The cabin itself was exotic to the max but quite comfortable. The toilet and shower were very clean, a small ventilator made the air inside a bit less hot so our northern bodies could go to sleeping mode, the bad was wide and there was a mosquito net, even though there was not many mosquitos inside. Special thanks to the host family! Incredibly social, nice and kind people. Very tasty, super original food on a small cozy terrace with local dishes, free water in bottles. If we come back to Sri Lanka we will definitely stay there again! Unforgettable experience!

Totally recommended! Great location, clean, cozy room (also has a fridge - not easy to find in Sri Lanka) and above all, kind, sweet and polite hosts!!!! The landlady woke up eraly in the morning (really early) before our safari just to prepare breakfast so that we have it with us!!! Totally worth staying in Amazon Cabanas!!

    Very nice and comfortable place. the staff are very well taken care of and prepare breakfast before an early safari. at the same time, the staff is also invisible, so you feel that the whole villa belongs to you (if there are no other guests). we spent most of our time on the terrace by the pool, meaning in the common area, which was very nice to be around.

    Absolutely stunning place. Well designed. Having just been to Marrakech in Morocco, this resort reminded us of a luxurious Riad! Excellent food, super pleasant staff and helpful owner! Perfect springboard for Yala. Our excellent safari driver, Mari, turned out to be a perfect leopard spotter (organised by My Village)
