Incredibly nice hosts. They offered me to have dinner together with them which was really nice. Very delicious food and kind people.

The food was excellent and more than I could eat. A wonderfully cozy fire heated up the dining area. And beer was icy cold.

We had the most incredible experience staying at a charming homestay nestled in the heart of Vietnam's rice fields. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the lovely family who owned the homestay. Their genuine kindness made us feel like we were part of their own family. The homestay itself was a peaceful sanctuary, surrounded by rice terraces stretching as far as the eye could see. The view from our room was simply breathtaking, with the vibrant fields contrasting beautifully with the clear blue sky. The family took great care in making sure we felt at home, offering traditional Vietnamese meals that were absolutely delicious. We had the chance to join them in the kitchen and learn how they prepared their dishes, an experience I will never forget. Every meal felt like a celebration of the region’s flavors, from the freshest vegetables to the most aromatic herbs. We also had the opportunity to explore the surrounding area with the family. They took us on a scenic walk through the rice terraces, sharing stories about their farming traditions and the history of the region. It was a beautiful and educational experience, and I truly felt connected to the land and its people. This homestay was more than just a place to stay, it was a chance to immerse ourselves in the authentic beauty of rural Vietnam while meeting people from all over the world. The family’s warmth and the stunning surroundings made it an experience I will cherish forever. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat in Vietnam, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Our four-night stay in a bungalow at A Su Homestay was definitely the highlight of our trip to Northern Vietnam. Run by a young Hmong family, the place itself and the views are exactly as beautiful as at the pictures. Moreover, A Su and his family created a warm and welcoming atmosphere and provided us a unique opportunity to learn about the culture and life in their village. The breakfast and dinner were exceptionally good and varied, with many local specialties. A Su speaks very good English, and was our local guide with whom we had long and interesting conversations during the trekking and motorcycling tours, as well as a day of handcrafting. He also helped us with organising our transportation back to Hanoi. We visited in early December and highly recommend visiting Mu Cang Chai, also outside of the peak-season. Although maybe not so colourful, the landscapes are still stunning. Since Mu Cang Chai is much less visited compared to heavily popular destinations such as Sa Pa or Ha Giang, we had a great opportunity for an authentic experience to learn about local life.
