At the homestay, every unit comes with a shared bathroom. It was beautifully maintained and so clean. Beds were very comfortable and views from the room were amazing. It honestly is so much nicer than it even looks in photos. The house reef is incredible to snorkel at - clown fish right outside your patio at high tide. Banana fritters delivered to you every afternoon around 4-5. Power (and fan) all night. Bathrooms kept clean and were “comfortable” to use :) they had some great snorkel tours offered - we enjoyed the Mansuar tour (4-5 snorkel stops + sandbar and was a half day) & gam tour (a few snorkel spots, some amazing “passages”, and mangroves… this was a full day tour and we travelled all around gam). The dog (Goldie <3 ) is the sweetest thing - we would leave water out for her and feed her our scrap chicken and fish. She didn’t beg but was so grateful for everything (she had 5 puppies at the time we were there & was still breastfeeding her pups)

Thank you for being so friendly, so kind, I had so much good time even if I was alone. This island is Christian but as a French Muslim girl travelling alone I felt like in my second home really !! With my family 😍 The food was also very very very delicious ! The water cristal blue ! Snorkelling spot amazing ! Diving center amazing ! If we could rate 10000000/10 I would do it. This guest house is allergy-free and non-smoking. Husna is super friendly and carrying. She organized a scooter, ferry tickets and lundry within just a view minutes. The rooms are super clean and beds are comfortable. They are basic, but keep in mind that you are in a tropical island- for us the roomequiment was sufficient and clean. Breakfast was also delicious (Omlettes, toast with differents spreads, fruits, and baked bananas.) 100% recommended!

Featuring a private entrance, the guest house allows guests to maintain their privacy. Location was amazing, the awesome doggies, the puppy so cute.. the outdoor shower is also great and even have free soap and shampoo 👌👌 food is decent portion and served in a timely manner.. they even sang at night on the sunset deck

Guests at the homestay can enjoy snorkelling nearby, or make the most of the garden. We had a wonderful stay at Frances, what a exklusive and luxurios place. Just 2 wonderful and huge huts in great design, right on top of the reef and in the middle of wonderful original Kurkapa Village. Very friendly staff, excellent food (delivered by the kids of the family right to our huge terrace). What more can you ask for - an island paradise, with a wonderful house reef right in front of the hut. Lots of fishes and sharks living there. Hopefully we´ll be back soon! Katrin & Markus

Facing the seafront in Kri, Gibran guest house has a private beach area and a garden. The property features sea and mountain views. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. The staff here really makes a difference! There are a couple of Catalan ladies (volunteer staff) who have been very responsive to every request I have made. The location is close to a very good reef for snorkeling. Comfortable over-the-water huts. Large bed with comfortable mattress and high mosquito net. Love the oversized knit hammock! Easy pick up for divers with Soul or Turtle or Yenbuba dive centers.

The guest house features family rooms. I booked 8 days here. I went diving for three days on the Pulau Gam and snorkeled daily on Friwen. They are about a 10 mins boat ride. The Homestay is rustic. There are two beds covered with mosquito net. They are totally fine but somehow one would get in every night. It’s an island at the equator, there are mosquitoes. Also geckos! That’s part of the adventure. The room has an interior slide lock and there’s a clipping lock with a key for locking when you’re away. Honestly I never locked my place. The island seems very safe. Kids playing, most of the folks on the island are involved in tourism, though they don’t speak much English. It wasn’t an issue. I traveled solo and spent most afternoons in the hammock, reading, writing or napping. The food was amazing, delicious, the cook is very sweet and calls you to breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fresh fish is caught daily. Vegetables and rice, very delicious and all included. Large quantities. Box lunches are available if you are diving all day. Bananas are snacks. Unlimited instant coffee, tea, hot water. The island is stunning. Sunsets amazing. The reef has more life to see while snorkeling than most places (Europe, Caribbean, US, Latin America) have to see while scuba diving! I saw turtles, squid, dolphins playing, reef sharks and millions of coral. A not about cash and other fees: you will need ~140,000 to take a ferry from Sorong to Waisai. Then you’ll need 600,000 to ride each way from Waisai to Friwen (this can be divided with others, provided there are other riders.). On Waisai, you’ll have to buy a Marine Park pass and an entry pass, in total 1,000,000. So you’ll need around 2,250,000 in cash (be prepared bc the pass can be purchased online, or card but sometimes their system is down and you have to pay cash). In Sorong airport there are four ATMs, most of them don’t work well. There are ATMs on Waisai but you have to ride a motorcycle to them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
