43 km from Mount Aso, hostel+cafe たね is a recently renovated property situated in Hōgano and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The guest house has family rooms. The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful. It’s in a more remote location, so it’s very peaceful. The couple running たね are so very kind, and their cooking is exceptional. Breakfast was so delicious. We wish we spoke better Japanese so we could have talked more. They were such interesting people.

The owner provided everything we need. All facilities are in good condition. Despite that we do not understand Japanese, the owner has a translation note in English on most of the equipment.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 藤のヴィラ チェリー棟 Self Check-in is set in Aso, 39 km from Suizenji Park and 39 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei. We had an amazing stay in this little hut in Aso! It was equipped with everything you could need! The kitchen was functional, WiFi worked perfectly and the washing machine was a plus! The beds were comfortable and we had some very good night sleep being surrounded just by nature. The staff is available if needed. The view of mount Aso is amazing. It's located in a little wood area surrounded by fields, 10 min drive from the nearest Onsen Town (recommend trying one of the public ones for sure!). We would love to stay here again!

The host was exceptionally kind and supportive in helping guests plan their travels and is invested in maintaining and rebuilding the culture of the area. I didn’t have a car and he drove me to the station multiple times and went above and beyond to make sure I found where I was going. The accommodations were clean, modern, and comfortable.

We were greeted by the friendly couple and Akira the cat :) Even though we were early we could check in. The house was beautiful and cozy with lovely big windows to the mountains. It was super clean and well planned, so we could easily stay four people. The kind hostess gave us tips about nearby supermarket, so we coule buy food and eat at the outdor table :) When we left we were offerer homemade onigiri! We had a great time and would definitely stay again!
