At the bed and breakfast, every unit comes with bed linen and towels. We can't fault Jua House. The place is stunning, the decor feels like its out of an interiors magazine. The staff is top-notch and Thomas is a rock star who I loved talking to. Breakfast is exceptional with freshly baked produce daily.

The accommodation provides a fitness room, free WiFi and family rooms. The house and room were beautiful, great view, loads of cosy seating. Breakfest was excellent, Joseph and Pepe were simply lovely and made sure we got the most out our short stay.

This beachfront property offers access to a patio. When staying at the guest house, guests can use private entrance. Really beautiful. A haven of serenity and calm. Exceptionally kind and helpful staff. When food is requested and cooked to order it’s of higher quality than that in the luxury hotel along the beach.

With sea views, Andavelo House is located in Lamu and has a restaurant, free shuttle service, bar, garden, sun terrace and year-round outdoor pool. With pool views, this accommodation provides a balcony. Each room is equipped with a patio with city views. This house is amazing, love the traditional decor and feel. The room was really big and spacious, fitted with fans to cool the room and Safari was really helpful with everything. I would 100% come back to stay here. The food was also really amazing thank you!

Kijani Hotel is located in Shela Village, just 3 km from Lamu Old Town and 4 km from Manda Airport. Takwa Prehistoric Site is 10 km away on Manda Island. Kijani is a charming little hotel in Shela, well located to discover the village on foot, and the nearby islands by boat. It has everything one needs for a perfect holiday; provides a quiet and peaceful backdrop. We loved the flexibility of management (even with last minute issues), return boat transfers included in the price, amazing breakfast and restaurant. Fantastic staff (management, reception, cleaning team, restaurant, kitchen, guards, in short: EVERYONE): kind, attentive, all while being respectful of privacy. We have stayed elsewhere in Lamu and Kijani truly stands out. Thank you.

Moses has been super helpful and friendly, the breakfast was great and the house is beautiful. The price-quality is really good, so I would definitely recommend it. Thanks!

Set in Lamu, 200 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum, Beytsalam offers accommodation with a garden, free WiFi, a shared kitchen, and luggage storage space. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay. The bed and breakfast has family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. There was a problem with the electricity (or AC) in the building when we arrived, but a new place closeby was quickly arranged for us. Other issues we encountered in the new place were quickly addressed as well.

Some units also have a well-fitted kitchen equipped with an oven, a toaster, and a fridge. This place never disappoints. This was my second time staying here and it still exceeded my expectations. The flat I stayed in was spacious and thoughtfully designed with some artful collections of antique Swahili style furniture. There was access to a private fully equipped kitchenette with an adjacent outdoor dining/ lounging area. The room was airy and well ventilated and also had a very spacious bathroom that had great shower pressure! Joshua is an exceptional host, responsive, warm and welcoming and very attentive. He has even made provisions for Solar lights in case of power outages which were infrequent during my stay and only lasted a few minutes at a time. The Wilderbeeste provides all the comforts and necessities of a home away from home yet its quirky and historical design provides a sense of adventure and novelty needed for a retreat! Can't wait to return for a longer stay!
