Vstřícný , milý , personál , co se týče kuchyně, velice nás nadchla večeře , kdy do mističek upečených z tenkého těsta se kleplo vajíčko, lehce zapeklo a přidali se další ingredience, zatočilo a ŇAM. Manažer hotelu pan Inbaraj nás doprovodil do zahrady koření, kde s námi udělal podrobnou prohlídku.

Maminka i dcera se o nás krásně staraly, všichni byli moc milí:-). Ubytování bylo velké, prostorné a hlavně čisté a voňavé! Při příjezdu dostanete čaj nebo kávu, my dostali jeste výborné banány. My jsme se bohužel špatně domluvili a využili safari tour přes internet, nicméně je možné, a určitě tuto variantu doporučujeme, využít safari tour přímo od ubytování! Za podobnou cenu (rozdíl je asi 5$) dostanete soukromé safari v krásném jeepu (my za stejnou cenu měli auto horší kvality a sdíleli jsme jeep s dalšími 3 lidmi). Ubytování se nachází do 30 minut od vstupu do NP Yala.

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

The property is beautifully situated on a lake. At sunset and sunrise you can walk there in a minute and see thousands of birds. We saw Ibis, 3 types of kingfishers, all kinds of herons, pelicans, and much more. There’s an open air restaurant on the property which is cosy and serves delicious food. We wanted to try the local lake fish (Koralli) and the owner gladly bought fresh ones and barbecued them for us. Super tasty!

Absolutely outstanding staff and service. Gal Oya boat safari with wildlife officials and indigenous community led forest walks are a must.

An amazing place and man. If you want to climb a nearby peak, walk through the jungle, try wild pepper, cinnamon and other plants Michael will make it possible for you. He took us on an amazing trek, which we could experience thanks to him. As for the accommodation, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean. The bed has a mosquito net, but I did not notice any mosquitoes in the evening (unusual). Michael is talkative, you can ask him about everything and he is very keen to show you what is best in Sri Lanka. I highly recommend staying with him.

Highly recommended for the tasty Sri Lankan home cooking and the nice private safari into the less crowded part of Yala park. Cannot beat this for the price especially with good AC and hot water shower. Worth going a bit out of the way for.

Sahana Retreat se nachází v destinaci Buttala a nabízí kola zdarma, zahradu, terasu a ubytování s bezplatným Wi-Fi a výhledem na hory. A beautiful retreat by the river and close to Block 5 Yala NP. Suj is a lovely guy and a fantastic cook and the servings are more than we could eat. The room is large and very clean and comfortable. You see elephants on the road not far south of the property and the whole experience there felt truly authentic. Highly recommended

Gal Oya Lodge se nachází v destinaci Galgamuwa a má restauraci, nepřetržitě otevřenou recepci, bar, zahradu, celoročně otevřený venkovní bazén, terasu a výhled do zahrady. Beautiful setting! Lovely bungalows! Loved every part of it. You are not likely to see leopard but we were of course aware of this before coming. Saw a huge heard of elephants and met chief elder of the Vedha community. Super interesting. Definitely recommend coming to this magical place.
