Bungalows in Udawalawe

Spacious and spotless rooms with comfortable bed equipped with mosquito net, fan, private bathroom with hot shower and outside sitting terrace. The room price of 6$ per night was fair. The lovely couple welcomed us with tea and cake and help with any regards. They have their own Safari Jeeps. We went on a 4h Safari with them for a jeep price of 13000 rupees (fits 6 persons, excluding national park entrance fee) which was well organized. They offer dinner and breakfast on request which we however didn’t take. The place is very peaceful and quiet, about 25min walk to the main road where you can find shops and good local restaurants. Recommend this place for a short stay and Safari.

Great Hotel! The cottage are spacious, clean and very comfy (huge beds)! The outdoor bathroom was really special. We did the morning half day safari with namal who was very engaging, excitable and knowledgeable about the national park. The facilities were clean, with top quality on arrival service.

Great hotel for visiting Udawalawe and for safari. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with all the amenities you need! Very comfortable beds. What makes this place is the wonderful staff, the owner who runs the hotel, and the people who really care about the guests. We also had an excellent dinner at the hotel, which I highly recommend, and the breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka! The hotel is well located for walking to the elephant migration house (highly recommend)

We had a great stay here and our hosts were great at making our stay as comfortable as possible. The location is quiet and the garden is beautiful. Our room had two large beds and a drying rack, mirror and case rack. The room had two good fans and the large bathroom had a hot shower, Ravido has sons who drive to Safari or Elephant Orphanage or even on long trips so they can arrange any type of trip you want at a reasonable price. The Elephant Orphanage was a pleasure to visit and 3 minutes away from the bungalow, bird and wildlife sightings were excellent on our safari and we were guaranteed to see elephants. A big thank you to all the family, we had a great experience staying at the quiet bungalow!!

Absolutely the Best Way to Explore the Sinharaja Rainforest! This was our favourite place we stayed on Sri Lanka trip. This eco-lodge is hands down the ultimate way to experience the magic of the Sinharaja Rainforest. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear you’re in for something extraordinary. The location is beyond words—completely surrounded by lush rainforests, making you feel truly immersed in nature. It is so peaceful and quite - no noise from roads, traffic etc. The staff made our entire stay seamless and stress-free. They have a convenient car park in the nearby village, where they meet you and transfer you up to the lodge in a 4x4—what a fun start to the adventure! We stayed for two nights (but would have happily stayed a 3rd). The accommodation is spectacular. Large windows on every side of the room allow you to feel like you’re right in the heart of the jungle. Waking up to the incredible sounds of the rainforest was unforgettable, and we even spotted monkeys and exotic birds right in our room! Amazingly, you also get wifi in your room. The staff were outstanding, from the friendly restaurant team to the knowledgeable guides. On arrival, the Duty Manager, Mithun, warmly welcomed us, explained all the details about meal times, and helped us plan treks into the rainforest. They offer a variety of treks and provide you with a guide. They are also pretty flexible, We wanted a longer trek to explore more of the jungle and this wasn't a problem. The trek itself was a dream. We spotted an incredible variety of wildlife, including lizards, snakes, and a stunning array of Sri Lankan birds. The guides were so knowledgeable and enhanced the experience. Overall, this was incredible value for money. Running such a well-maintained eco-lodge in the middle of the rainforest can’t be easy, yet they make it feel effortless. If you’re looking for great value for money and an unforgettable way to explore Sinharaja, this is absolutely it.
