As we were travelling on a budget and keen to meet the locals Alofa Beach bungalows was the perfect balance of comfort and friendly hospitality. Simple, relaxing and authentic looking bungalows with ensuite, running water and hot showers. The host were lovely and ready to help with whatever we needed. The food was nice. Pancakes for breakfast :) The bungalows are near a long stretch of coral strewn beach typical of Vanuatu and close to the local village. Perfect alternative to the resorts if you're after a more authentic experience.

Tanna Chez Nous Bungalow and Tours has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Loméméti. This bed and breakfast offers a garden. The bed and breakfast features family rooms. Charlie is a very good host , knows everyone on the island and can arrange , tours , flights to accomodate any of your needs . He and his family were so hospitable , it was the highlight of my stay on Tanna to stay with them , they have a beautiful beach just 10min walk which the village children love to play in , the water is crystal clear . I love the hut it’s a tradition style and the food was beautiful , organic and fresh which his wife makes over traditional wood fire . I highly recommend staying with Charlie and using his tours . Not to forget Tom his driver who knows his stuff when it comes to four wheel driving through the volcanic ash plains and rivers to get to the top of the volcano . ( Charlie is a math teacher at the village school , supplies are limited on the island so recommend brining some stationary , pens , crayons , books ect )

Tanna friendly bungalow is situated in Lénakel and offers a private beach area and a bar. This villa has a private pool, a garden and free private parking. Spectacular beach setting with beautiful sunsets classic coconut tree black sand beach setting at the end of a one way wilderness road great experience if you want to relax. A bit away from volcano village if that is focus.

Set in White Sands, Castle Tree House And Bungalow offers a garden. Featuring room service, this property also welcomes guests with a restaurant, a water park and a terrace. Mike sam and family were extremely welcoming in their home, and you could tell they put genuine effort into making our stay comfortable and memorable. The tree house is awesome with a great view, the functional toilet is a luxury. Would happily stay for much longer in this beautiful part of Tanna.
