Great location, great service. We arranged our tours right from the desk (morning canoe, and, turtle nesting). Tortuguero is small and entirely walkable, Casa Marbella is very central. Loved the breakfasts sitting out by the river. Our morning tour was wonderful, we saw so much.

Located between the Caribbean Sea and the canals of Tortuguero National Park, Mawamba Lodge is accessible by boat or plane only.

The location is gorgeous! Right next to the beach (which isn’t meant for swimming) and a 20 minute walk into the small village. It was Turtle season and we baby sea turtles on our morning walk and at night you can take a guid tour to see the turtles coming onto land to lay there eggs. The beach is closed between 6pm and 6am to protect the turtles. Take note that getting to Tortuguero you need to take a water taxi that leaves from La Panova (large parking area) and the last one leaves at around 4pm. We paid a bit extra (€15 per person in total) to have the watertaxi drop us off at the Mawamba Lodge. We were traveling end of September and the river water was really low so it took almost 3 hours to get to the Lodge but otherwise it is about 1 hour. But we really didn’t mind cause the boat trip is really unique and goes right through the jungle of Tortuguero.

Whilst you need to get a water taxi, this hotel is completely worth being on the other side of the water. The wildlife is absolutely incredible, with monkeys outside our room and sightings of lots of other animals!

The Evergreen Lodge is located amid Tortuguero National Park, and offers spacious rooms, complimentary meals, free Wi-Fi and massage services.

Receptions very helpful in booking trips, organising boats, booking lunch etc. place fantastic, saw monkeys on walkways around our rooms and around pool area and other wildlife. Umbrellas provided, which was needed.

With pool views, Laguna Lodge Full Board is set in Tortuguero and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

Exceptional location! Did appreciate the full board proposition and do recommend to everyone to take this option when going to Tortugero. Very organised with taking guests to visit the surroundings and respectfull of nature and local community.

A small Oasis in Tortuguero, with the sweetest staff. Good food, good bar, positive vibes. The night turtle watching trip is a very strong experience, for all family members. Remember you're in side a mangrove in a rainforest.
