Our treehouse was very clean and good equiped to keep insects and other unwanted animals outside. The domain is located in the woods and the pure Costa Rican nature. It was cute decorated with lights and the common space had a beautiful view. There is an own restaurant and one word: amazing. The food was amazing. We ate every night something different and we got never disappointed. There were a lot of options and the prices were normal. The staff was kind and they gave us information about the activities in the surrounding area. The lodge is very secluded (which we loved because of the peace and the animal-sounds). It’s a 50 min drive to La Fortuna so you need to have your own car to get to the lodge. The way up is bumpy so we would recommend to drive with a 4x4 but believe us: it is worth it! We loved our stay here and we are so content that we’ve made the trip up the mountain.

Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails also features an on-site bird sanctuary that has around 500 different species of birds; other recommended activities include tours of Arenal Volcano's lava flows, exploring the several nearby waterfalls, or climbing the 28 m. (92 ft.) wildlife observation tower, The Nest. Arenal Lake is an excellent site to practice sports fishing. There are also 11 km of walking trails throughout the property, or guests can just relax in the hot tub or have a massage in the spa. Hotel and location blew our minds - so much to see and do on site that it merits a week's stay on the premises alone! Breakfast, rooms and views were all exceptional. Pool facilities and spa service were also superb. Hotel offers many activities both on-site (thanks Christian for being a great guide!) and off-site. Would definitely recommend and consider another visit.

There is a private entrance at the chalet for the convenience of those who stay. The chalet features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Beautiful chalet, secluded enough to see monkeys and beautiful birds but close enough to town and to Parque Volcan Tenorio to make it convenient. Hosts were very kind and clearly willing to work on any single detail to make the stay enjoyable (a bottle of rose as a gift upon arrival, games for kids, a full well equipped kitchen... nothing was missing). I highly recommend the place.

Very comfortable beds , great breakfast and they accommodated my need for GF as I am Coeliac. The grounds were absolutely stunning and the rooms were huge. Amazing wildlife, we saw toucans , iguanas and heard the howler monkeys.

There are SO many great sodas and places to eat at in town, we didn't necessarily want to pay for included breakfast. The kitchenette was perfect, and we could re-heat leftovers etc, but it really felt more like staying at our own place. We hardly saw another person (staff or guests, but we know they were there!) the whole time, and it was so peaceful. Staff was very responsive to questions via Whatsapp, and the instructions for getting in and out of the gate/ parking area/ keys etc were very clear.

The view from the property was amazing! It was a bit cloudy sometimes but we could usually see Arenal poking through. The garden is so beautiful, and attracts gorgeous butterflies and hummingbirds. My dad had a great time just sitting on the patio and enjoying the sound of the jungle, watching all the wildlife surrounding the cottage. It was so peaceful and relaxing there. We also found the resident sloth on the road next to the house! The mural on the walls of the house is unbelievably beautiful!! The house was compact but had everything you needed - hot water, wifi, washing machine, AC, fully equalised kitchen, and even a smart TV. We really enjoyed staying there, and the price was great too!
