Northwood Motor Lodge is a 4-star motel on the edge of Christchurch, only 8km from the airport. The motel offers modern, air-conditioned accommodation with free Wi-Fi. Place was spotless. Even quality wine glasses. Good size and quiet. Peter was great and very responsive. The best stay we have had in our 3 month vacation. Strongly recommend it and would absolutely stay here again. Top notch.

A lot of people have pointed out that it offers little privacy due to the many glass panels and windows but we didn't find it a problem as there were ample blinds in all the rooms and shared spaces. The fact that each room had its own bathroom was a huge plus point. The kitchen was well-appointed and had everything we needed to cook a simple breakfast. Location was fantastic too. Easily the nicest place we stayed at during our trip around the South Island.

The lodge is easy to locate and quiet, the rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed with wide open views. There was a warm welcome from Mary. The do_it_yourself breakfast spread was great with cooking facilities if you want to make an evening meal, too.
