Nestled in the iconic, picturesque nature of Armenia, Dream Hotel provided us with an exceptional stay that we will remember fondly for years to come. The staff’s dedication, the comfort of the accommodation, and the delightful homemade food all contributed to an extraordinary experience, even amidst unexpected challenges. Our stay coincided with a severe weather disaster on May 26, 2024, which caused the Debed River to flood and led to disruptions in electricity and gas. However, the hotel staff's resilience and commitment to our safety and comfort were truly remarkable. They worked tirelessly throughout the night to resolve all issues, allowing us to sleep peacefully despite the circumstances. One of the most impressive aspects of our stay was the staff's culinary skills. With nearby restaurants closed due to the crisis, they managed to prepare incredibly tasty homemade meals that made us feel at home. This resourcefulness and dedication to our satisfaction truly enhanced our stay during the challenging times. Special mention goes to the manager, who was not only instrumental in managing the emergency but also helped us find an alternative path to leave after we decided to extend our stay by an additional day. Their invaluable guidance and support showcased the hotel's commitment to its guests. Despite the challenges posed by the natural disaster, the team at Dream Hotel turned a potentially stressful situation into a smooth and memorable experience. Thanks to their exceptional service and care, we were able to fully enjoy the breathtaking surroundings of Armenia without worry. We highly recommend Dream Hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and serene getaway in Armenia. The beautiful location, coupled with the outstanding dedication of the staff, makes it a top choice for travellers from all over the world. We arrive at 10.30 because of some unexpected situation… and the owner still take sour order for dinner and cook until 11.30. We offer to clean dishes and get refused. They work late maybe until 12.30am because of us. We feel very thankful for their hospitality.

Describing our incredible stay at Guesthouse Mary is a daunting task. In all honesty, I struggle to find the right words to capture the beauty and warmth we experienced during our time there. Looking back, I wish we could have extended our stay to fully immerse ourselves in the exceptional hospitality provided by Mary and her family. Right from the moment we arrived, we were embraced as if we were long-lost family members. A delectable array of homemade baked goodies greeted us, accompanied by a choice of invigorating Armenian coffee and tea. The village of Haghpat, nestled among the lush hills, plateaus, and gorges of the awe-inspiring Lori Province, provided the perfect backdrop. Here, natural and locally sourced ingredients were masterfully transformed into mouthwatering meals. From freshly churned butter and cheese procured from nearby farmers to homemade jams and baked goods meticulously crafted by Mary, her mother, and her talented nephew, Arthur, using fruits and vegetables from their own garden, every bite was a revelation. The Dolma, made with grapevines from Mary's garden, was a culinary delight, unlike anything we had ever tasted. What's more, Mary went out of her way to ensure that the meals catered to my vegetarian friend, showcasing her exceptional kindness. As for the accommodation, it can best be described as a nostalgic "Dacha," a charming summer cottage constructed by Mary's father in the 1960s. Each corner of the house is adorned with historical artifacts and handcrafted materials that transported us to a bygone era. The mid-century furnishings, skillfully crafted long before the age of mass production, offered a glimpse into a time when things were meticulously handmade. And how delightful it was to sit on the balcony, serenaded by the melodies of countless songbirds, or explore Arthur's captivating "mini-museum" in the basement, where family heirlooms painted a vivid picture of Armenia's rich history.

Friendly host, great breakfast, the owner even prepared dinner for me late in the evening. Excellent beds, kitchen, furniture, bathroom. Very clean. Free parking. Alaverdi is perfect location to visit the convents/churches and the canyon. If I'll ever visit Alaverdi again, I definitely will stay in this hotel again.
