Everything! It’s a gem in the cataratas! The spacious and clean room, the super nice and helpful staff, the great pool and the sound of the Forrest makes this hotel the best I’ve stayed for years! And I strongly recommend. Very little pictures in booking, check the website that shows more of this amazing hotel. Surrounded by nature Very complete breakfast and tasty Only 7 mins by taxi from the center

I had a fantastic two night stay here recently to visit the Iguazu falls and catch up with friends. It’s an awesome property near the river and a quick and easy 10 minute walk to the bus terminal and middle of town, very clean and modern, lovely bathroom with hot shower. It was also quiet at night which was a bonus. Breakfast was great too with eggs, fruit, pastries, coffee and juice as well as toast and some other bits. Lara on the front desk was so friendly and helpful as well. A great stay in Iguazu!

Location was good. Less than 10min easy walk to the centre for bars and restaurants. Room was large, had good AC and comfortable. Breakfast was very adequate and tasty. The pool was small but good for a cool off. Shame the bar staff at the pool don't serve food or drinks... infact I never did understand what they served. The hotel helped us connect with a taxi man... we used him for all our trips. Ask for Cristian, he was always on time, good rates and safe.

FAQs about hotels in Puerto Iguazú

Picturesque Town on Iguazú Falls' Doorstep

Located 18 km from the Iguazú Falls UNESCO World Heritage Site, Puerto Iguazú is an Argentinean town situated near the Brazilian border, in the Province of Misiones. Its compact city centre is packed with restaurants, cafés and shops, while the area is well-known for its red soil and lush vegetation.

The stunning falls comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km between Argentina and Brazil. They have a maximum height of 80 metres and a water flow that can be three times superior to that of the Niagara Falls.

The Guaraní natives named the falls ‘iguazú’, meaning ‘big water’. The national park was founded in 1907, and some of the best hotels in Puerto Iguazú are located in the road linking the city centre to the falls. Some hotels on the Argentinean side of the waterfalls offer beautiful views.

The local bus station offers links to several long-distance destinations, including Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The city is served by Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, while the Brazilian Foz do Iguaçu International Airport is 16 km away.

Whether you need a backpacker hostel, a hotel near the airport, or a 5-star resort, don’t miss the Puerto Iguazú deals available on Booking.com!

    The Falls are spectacular!

The Falls are spectacular! Went first thing in the morning and hiked all the trails. Started with the lower trail, which was basically empty, and with the sun behind us, our views were absolutely incredible. Then did upper trail and finally did the devils throat, which by mid afternoon was crowded, but not bad. A must visit if going to Argentina.

A small town, which felt like a ghost town most of the time. No uber and no much to do, really. It feels we were the only tourists to be there as everyone was local. You get to this village because of the iguazu falls, nothing else really. There’s nothing else to do there

The place is (unfortunately) very over-touristed.

The place is (unfortunately) very over-touristed. The organization at the Falls is chaotic, and needs a complete overhaul (with instructions in English). Skip the train ride, walk to the Central Station, and just do the 2 trails - this will save you hours of frustration. Excellent toilet facilities. If using municipal transport to get back to town, check the final destination of the bus you are getting onto - not all of them go to the "3 Points" terminus, some stop at "Centro" (regardless of what you have paid for).

Our first impression of the city was that it had seen better...

Our first impression of the city was that it had seen better days. Older, run down buildings and sidewalks and poor street lighting. Then we realized that most of the activity in town takes place on the northeast side where it felt like Key West with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. The border crossing into Brasil creates an unbelieveably long line of cars waiting to cross, and while busses and tours have a special lane, it is still a delay. Knowing this now, we would have stayed 3 days ion the Brasil side to see Paraguay, the Brasil side of the falls and the 3 Frontiers park with hte giant ferris wheel. Then we would have come to the Argentine side to spend a full day at the falls (a larger park than the Brasilian side) as well as enjoy the town of Puerto Iguazu and keep the border crossing to a inimum. Fnially, it is unclear why the young people in town are obsessed with drumming. Groups of 10 to 20, mostly teenagers, congregate at each end of town to make noise. Not music, just noise. Not artistic Japanese Taiko type drumming, jsut noise. Oh, and it is unbearably hot.

Short 2 days, wouldve like to cross to Brazil side Bus & taxi about same price if traveling more than 3ppl..When in waterfalls need waterbottles, you can refill throughout park. Very easy to get around Puerto Iguazu, walkable but better early in the morning or in the evening because of heat. If not bus stops & taxi stops easy to spot

The hotel has a fantastic location in the National Park - but my recommendation would be to stay at the Belmond hotel opposite on the Brazilian side of the Falls. Sadly the hotels location is its best feature / only. It’s an ugly building, and whilst it’s been decorated to the best of its ability, it is a ‘Pig in a Wig’. The service was ok, nothing special and the food was similar. It served a purpose as there’s nowhere else to eat in the national park.

A hidden treasure at Puerto Iguazú! I feel like staying in a kind of delightful mission, far away from any disturbance, but quite well served by all the amenities of a good guest house. I have loved the chapel, the room and the (superb) bathroom! Very nice and supportive staff!!! I am making plans to go back to a proper personal retreat. Bonus: the accommodation is relatively near the falls, and walkable near downtown and thematic parks and fairs.

There are not that many hotels in the town of Puerto Iguazu and if you prefer to stay in town - O2 is a great choice. The main attraction is the roof-top pool and bar with views over Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. The room was nice, if a little tired. Breakfast and bar food were good too. Staff were friendly and helpful.
