Wonderful surroundings, cosy accommodation, stunning lake views. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay. We recieved a warm welcome on arrival, thanks to Bernadett. I liked everything! The location is amazing, secluded and calm but also has everything you need like food at the restaurant or 5 minutes away by car at any supermarket. I would definitely come again. Friends' groups, however, shall watch out for the showering situation 😂 it is more like a romantic getaway 😉 but I still had lots of fun with my friend there. Ah the Seilbahn is 5 minutes away aaand Hallstaat is about an hour, although I don't recommend leaving the heaven of this place and going to the touristic horror of Hallstaat.

    We stayed in Abersee close to the port (Gschwendt).

    We stayed in Abersee close to the port (Gschwendt). This area is generally quiet particularly at night as it is sparsely populated, with pastures, farms, and indeed guesthouses. There is a public beach excellent for swimming (with paid access, but included in some accommodation; it is grass, pebbles, wooden walkway and stairs to get to water more comfortably). One can also walk along the lake, cycle, or walk further for hiking in the hills. For shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, one needs to take a short drive to St. Gilgen or Strobl.

    My daughter wanted to stay in a small Pension like we used to stay in when we lived in Austria. None of us were disappointed. It was everything that we wanted, with a lovely breakfast and friendly owners.
