The staff was great and the room was very comfortable.
The staff was great and the room was very comfortable. Fast wi-fi and slippers and robe in the room. Parking was free and just outside the hotel. There is no elevator if you are on upper floors. Millstatt is a quaint town with direct access to the lake.
Millstatt is a quaint town with direct access to the lake. It's most likely suited to families due to the amount of children that are present at the lakeside bathing areas. If you enjoy hiking, then it's a great place to start from; only 30 mins drive (sometimes on toll roads) to the base of a few mountains. The town has the amenities you need, such as a supermarket and a few restaurants, but not a lot more. There are very few bars if you would like to go for a drink in the evening, so make sure you head to the supermarket earlier in the day! In addition, the town feels slightly overcrowded in the summer months, so you need to make sure that you reserve your table for dinner a day or two ahead; there are also few places that could accommodate us on a walk-in basis. The hotel has its own private area by the Milstatt Lake, which guests can access, and this was a major highlight. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and excellent, offering a variety of jams, different cheeses including both hard and soft, a selection of salami, sliced cheese, various juices, coffee on request, as well as muesli and fruit. Professional table and cutlery setting. The chef Srđan and his companion Larisa are polite and they know their business very well.
