The food was outstanding. If you consider yourself to be a foodie then this place is for you! We stayed for a week and had the vegetarian options a number of times and even these were stellar. Breakfast was great also with a good assortment of freshly baked bread, flavourful scrambled eggs, fresh fruit salad and a really nice tea section - and so much more! Lastly, the pool and spa area was all you could ask for. I don't normally swim in public pools but made an exception here. Chlorine levels were perfect.

We had an amazing time at Ferienwohnung Semler. The apartment is very nice and clean, it is fully equiped and much bigger then I thought from the pictures. The host is very nice, the surroundings are beautiful, I highly recommend for families, even larger group of friends.

The house is absolutely stunning. The host was amazing and the communication was great. Everything was ready for us to use and clean, the kitchen (well, basically the whole house) was well equipped. Perfect house for families with children for summer/winter stays.

It is farther inside the woods than I thought, getting there is a bit adventurous but we got there and it is a nice place altogether. Great start for hiking.

I will stay here again. Very good place to spend couple days. Cozy and beautiful guest house, the village itself and the mountains covered with pine forest. Lots of nice paths close the the guest house so you can get to the hiking easy and fast.

    The main attraction is the nearest mountain, Schneeberg.

    The main attraction is the nearest mountain, Schneeberg. There is a hiking pass and a special train in summer. The hike is fantastic! Best fitness you can have and a great view (if the weather is not too bad).

    Puchberg is a beautiful little town with the Scneeberg...

    Puchberg is a beautiful little town with the Scneeberg scenery. Very good restaurants and bars waiting for the customers. Nice and friendly people everywhere. Only one homeless spotted... :D Unfortunately the Salamandra train is not working in winter.

    I think visiting Puchberg am Schneeberg would be perfect as...

    I think visiting Puchberg am Schneeberg would be perfect as a day trip from Vienna - especially if you only go to hike the Schneeberg. Staying the night in Puchberg is advised, if you would like to wake up to the view of mountains :) Or watch the starry sky ;) Nothing is open in the evening, so if you descend the mountain late (as we did, since we missed the last Salamander train), there is nowhere to get food. Only one place is open, but they serve nothing but drinks by that time. By about 8.30 pm (in September) the entire village was dark and quiet. Very unusual and eerie, if you've been staying in capital cities before that :P

The apartment is huge - suitable for families And the village of Puchberg am Schneeberg, which is used for a trip with the Salamander train, is a few minutes' drive away.     We haven't asked for breakfast , but with the fully equipped kitchen we had no issues. The apartman was spacious , clean , quiet , had a lovely charm , we had a great stay there. We had view of the mountain. The exterior is big and well maintained , with a small lake and equipment for children to play. There's a lovely hiking trail behind the hotel , recommend to try it. Our guests were also exceptional , very helpful and lovely.

    There was lots to like about this hotel! We particularly appreciated the convenient location close to the train station, the very clean and big pool area, the breakfast and afternoon snack, the onsite tennis courts, and the onsite restaurant. Everything under one roof. We loved that we could use the wellness area all day on the days we checked in and out.

    We spent a weekend here and we loved the place. The owner is super friendly and it made us feel at home. Rooms are large, very comfortable and clean. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent. We will come back next time we visit.
