The bed was really soft with good pillows. The heater warmed up the place pretty quick. But what we liked the most were our hosts. They were super friendly and helpful. A real small town personal feeling thag we both appriciate.

The studio was so peaceful! I loved sitting on the hammock with all of the birds in the garden. The location beside the river was fantastic, and Nikita let us use her kayaks which was great. The studio has everything you need. I would highly recommend staying here.

Town is pretty and well maintained, locals very friendly . Not enough venues for dining/dinner, but the food was good where we visited. Dined at the Pub both nights, not many other options, but can't complain about the food or service.

Augusta is an unspoiled coastal town with an interesting history. We enjoyed the beautiful river walk, ending up at the excellent Colour Patch Cafe where we had a superb lunch overlooking the water. The Augusta Pub has excellent meals and very friendly staff. Lunch at a window table overlooking the water was a lovely experience. A drive to Cape Leewin Lighthouse was a highlight, with a visit to the excellent historical precinct and small museum of lighthouse and coastal history. At Cape Leewin the Indian Ocean and the Southern Ocean meet. An awesome, rugged and hazardous coastline. You need a car to see Augusta and surrounding sights.

Augusta is a great choice for a getaway for singles or couples, quiet location with several good restaurants available and a fair choice of different accomodation available, centrally located supermarket with fuel station and cafés it has all you need for a week away or just a weekender. Loved sapphire chalet no 1 an excellent place to stay.

Loved sapphire chalet no 1 an excellent place to stay. We took the 2 hour river trip and loved it. Even saw heaps of dolphins. Enjoyed seeing the lighthouse and skippy rock. Great view. Enjoyed a coffee near colourpatch cafe with the best Portuguese tarts ever. Fabulous river views. Main highlight was going to Hamelin bay to see the stingrays. Something we will never forget. Stopped at August Bakery and had a pie each that was the best we have had in years. Would love to try the new dumpling van next time. Will never go back to the Augusta fish and chips. Paid $25 for a piece of fish that was disgusting and the chips tasted like they were cooked a half a dozen times and dripping with oil. Shame as this was the only disappointment in beautiful Augusta.

Enjoyed cycling to Augusta and to the river mouth.

Enjoyed cycling to Augusta and to the river mouth. Enjoyed kayaking and fishing. Augusta is a place where you can find sheltered spots out the wind. Also great watching the kite surfers at the river mouth and seeing the dolphins and rays on most days. Played bowls at the bowling club. Had a great pub lunch at the Karridale Tavern nearby and a great walk and swim at Conto's.

Apart from the enjoyable stay at the Augusta Hotel, we took a river tour with Graeme (can't remember his other name, but the hotel knows him). It took a couple of hours, but Graeme is very knowledgeable about the river and Augusta in general, and is also quite personable and has a sense of humour. It was excellent...highly recommended.

Unassuming exterior, but inside is lovely, clean, comfortable huge beds and sofa and well appointed kitchen, good shower. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings - tranquil. Augusta is a lovely place to visit and this was a great base. The chalets are close enough together for families to both stay in each - kids loved walking over in the morning.
