A very interesting place to visit.
A very interesting place to visit. Lots of history and nature. Every tour was interesting, well run and full of new and great information. The tour guides were all easy to understand and full of knowledge. The food included in every tour we took exceeded our expectations. Wonderful fresh seafood selections everywhere we visited. All tours really take care of the natural environment, no rubbish on the beaches here. The visitor centre is a mine of information and bookings can be made for many activities. The shops are interesting and there are many cafes. I particularly liked Green Mango cafe. The museum is a must for people interested in the history of Broome. Town Beach has a very informative memorial to the bombing of Broome in WW2. We travelled by car to various places like the lighthouse, the museum and Chinatown, Cygnet Bay, Willy Creek, Crocodile park, etc. That was the best part. But it is all expensive. Very chilled place, loved it, Short Street Gallery is a must, the bungalow especially if you are interested in art. Loved it all, the sunsets are spectacular, the birds by the mangroves are worth getting up early to listen and look at. It would have been even better if the bus service had run as intended. There are so many experiences close to, and in Broome, that we just added 300km to our hire car the 8 days we were in Broome. We saw the camels on the beach, a crocodile farm, Stairway to the Moon, markets and a fair. Close to the Broome Explorer bus stops, 10 minute walk to Broome town and 15 minute walk to Town Beach. Rooms look new and are very clean, modern and comfortable. The pool is big and deep, very refreshing with plenty of space in the pool area to relax. No restaurant onsite but Matsos Brewery is across the road and the Mangrove Hotel is next door. Your reception at Moonlight Bay stayed a little longer for my arrival, and showed me the way to Bayside. Being first time to Broome, travelling alone, and at 7pm it is completely dark, getting the hotel key from a lock box i can imagine it would be very difficult for me to find the way to Bayside with the luggage etc, esp there was no one around to ask for direction.
