Amazing views, both during the day and stargazing at night. It was a little chilly when we stayed, so we soon drew on our inner cavemen and lit the fire (which is the sole source of heating the cabin) but there are easy to follow instructions. Plenty of hot water and lovely big and comfy bed - with a skylight above (think stargazing at night in your bed) Handy location, just 10 mins from the historic Port Arthur site and less thsn 10 mins to the local IGA & bottle shop. Would stay again!

Beautiful secluded cabin with everything that you would need provided. Gorgeous spot on the property of McHenry Distillery. We were made to feel welcome. The fire was a highlight on the cool nights. The beds were super comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Perfect escape!

This villa is well located and is extremely conducive for our family needs. The kitchen facilities were more than adequate, the size of the hall and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We were held up due to rain and had a late check in around 9 PM. However, the staff were kind enough to make our check in so seamless. Their efforts are much appreciated.

Clean , comfortable, very good value fir money and an excellent location. Older style units on the outside but nothing to dislike on the inside. The owners provided all the little touches that made you feel welcome. Soap, as shampoos, lovelu thick white towels, quality linen, bottled water in the fridge. Port Arthur was 2 mins drive away. In fact the view from the rear cabins was over it. There was also a restaurant on site but we did not use it. Would highly recommend this place if you are visiting Port Arthur.

    You need a full day.

You need a full day. The cruise is included in the entry and very informative. You can book various tours and take a walk around by yourself. For those with mobility problems a free buggy will take you to various sites. Some places have steps. There is a great cafe that sells hot or cold food and drinks a gift shop ad a dining room for nght time meals. There is a lovely Cafe and museum at the lunatic asylum along with restrooms. Make sure you have your camera ready as some beautiful birds throughout. Wear comfy shoes and be prepared for quick change in weather. overall it is a very great insight in the harsh conditions convicts endured. Enjoy.

An all day visit required. The ticket allows for 2 day pass. Ferry ride enjoyable. Toilets located every where around the site. Where you least expect them, but are glad they are. Tour guide/talks at various locations around site are informative. A cafe near separate prison is good.

We probably should have listened to the tour guides and got a lot more out of our visit but we enjoyed just going around on our speedy schedule. I enjoyed the Spotify talks and found them informative. I would have liked more of them. The boat trip was very good.

Port Arthur is a terrific place to visit!!!

Port Arthur is a terrific place to visit!!! There is lots to see and do here. The Port Arthur Historic Site is fantastic. We took a guided tour of the site before we started looking around. Our tour guide was exceptional and really knew her stuff. The cruise around Carnarvon Bay which is included in the price was also great. The site is not the only attraction at Port Arthur. There are also a number of geographical features on the peninsula that are worth a look (e.g. Remarkable Cave, Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen). The Tasmanian Devil Unzoo at Taranna should not be overlooked either!

A beautiful setting, carefully honouring the tragedies of past and recent times. The cafe is so much more than that - staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful with directions, and the 'story-tellers' of PA's history was absolutely charming and spot-on with their delivery and facts.

I got great weather and that may have made a difference. Day 1 was at Port Arthur. It's beautiful but sobering. A must do. Day 2 Tasman Island cruise. Brilliant. We saw whales (out of season), seals and tons of dolphins and seabirds. The boat trip was fun and the scenery spectacular. A must, must, must do.

The location was amazing, overlooking the Port Arthur historical site. We arrived after reception had closed but it was still easy and straightforward to check-in. We had booked two rooms and were given rooms with a connecting door, which was excellent. The rooms were nice and large, the beds very comfortable, the bathrooms very clean and the shower really good. We had dinner in the restaurant that night. Prices were really good and my sister thought the steak was the best she had in some time, certainly during our time in Tasmania.

The cottage is spacious and cosy, it is right outside the field where the cows graze. Kim n Rod were very welcoming and friendly, Rod gave us a tour around the farm and shared with us about the cows, as well as some history on Port Arthur. We also appreciate the continental breakfast provided for us! Really wished we spent more nights, will definitely be back ^^
