Great getaway place from routine. Perfectly suits families who may not be comfortable with hassle of camping and wilderness; still want somewhere quiet and provided with comforts of a house.

We loved our stay at the Bannaby Cottage. We stayed just for a couple of nights over the Easter long weekend and were lucky with the weather that was perfect. The Cottage was lovely with sunshine streaming through and beautiful country surroundings. It was so relaxing and peaceful that we were happy to just stay in and enjoy it and only went for a short walk to explore around the farm to see the traditional shearing shed that was incredible. The Cottage itself seems brand new / fully renovated and is beautifully set up - the photographs on the website don't do it justice. The place has a remote feel and it was quite an adventure for us driving there and back from Sydney through country roads that we preferred to the main roads and highway. We made a trip out of it and visited places along the way including on the way back the nearby Taralga and Wombeyan Caves that were worth the visit (even though I am not a big fan of caves and have already seen too many in Asia that were quite impressive). It was fun discovering a new part of NSW where we haven't been previously, as it is bit of a drive from Sydney just for a weekend away, especially if - like us - you don't go the direct way - but that's what makes it fun and interesting:)
