Warragul has friendly people. It is a rural supply town, dairy farmers and the retail that supports that, yes there’s a hospital and a few schools, but it’s not a tourist town. It’s a stuffy, rather well healed piece of Burwood transplanted into Gippsland. Warragul is a friendly country town, roughly an hour and a half drive from Melbourne. The town centre is compact and has most things you would need. Plenty of cafes and places to eat. We ate at the Commercial Hotel which has great meals and friendly, helpful staff. We had never been to Warragul before and we came for friends...
We had never been to Warragul before and we came for friends celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary. We were able to do some local shopping and on the following morning go to a local café with friends for breakfast. We had travelled from central Victoria. Warragul is a lovely town in the Gippsland area of Victoria. It has ample shopping opportunities and is well catered for in terms of supermarkets. It is located about one and half to two hours from Melbourne and the car trip is very straight forward on freeways.Guest review byDebbieAustralia - 4.0

As a Vegan animal lover, these places are hell on earth and it's all so matter of fact and cruelty hiding in plain sight. Shops close early, restaurants were average at best, people were not that friendly. Friendly welcoming staff, accommodation had everything you need, full kitchen, oven, microwave, toaster, heading, aircond, tvs, pool. The cabin was very clean & well presented & ours had carport parking. Located quick drive from town centre & arts centre. Surrounded by parkland & walking track. This coupled with the fact that the beds & pillows were really comfy meant that we had a great night's sleep. Shower was huge with great supply of hot water with excellent pressure. It was a cold night outside, but the quiet reverse cycle air con / heater kept room at a nice temperature. The cottage is in a great location, we enjoyed breakfast at the local cafe just around the corner and the fenced dog park was a pleasant short walk away.
