During my recent stay at the Home Boutique Hotel in Azerbaijan, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional warmth and hospitality of the staff. Hotel personnel was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast is amazing and the room much bigger than expected. Very comfortable. I happened to lose my wedding ring and the crew found it and returned it to me a couple of days later without any issue. Location is excellent, very close to city center.

    The city is calm, beautiful, and peaceful, offering plenty of places for photography and relaxation. It is definitely worth visiting. Negative: Unfortunately, there is a noticeable issue with tourist exploitation. Some locals make remarks in their language assuming visitors do not understand. This is especially evident with taxis, Bolt rides, and in shops around the city center. If prices are not clearly displayed, it is advisable not to purchase.

    A very pleasant surprise!

    A very pleasant surprise! Half the price of London - a meal for two with a bottle of wine averaged £30. I'd recommend Borani and Dorma - both in Fountain Square - tasty food and extremely friendly. In August, the temperature is around 38 degrees but there is a cool breeze which took the edge off - most inside places are air-conditioned. Definitely download the Bolt app (Uber) - taxis are extremely cheap and handy to get around. We went to Shikh Beach which was 5 miles out and it only cost £3.50! It's a 6 hour flight from London and Azerbaijan Airlines were awesome - I'd definitely recommend this as an affordable and enjoyable destination!

    Baku is an amazing mix of history and modern life.

    Baku is an amazing mix of history and modern life. The beautiful Old City with its narrow streets and historic buildings feels like stepping back in time, while the modern boulevard along the Caspian Sea is perfect for relaxing walks. People here are incredibly hospitable and always ready to help. The food is delicious — from fresh kebabs to local sweets. Everything is clean, safe, and easy to explore. I truly enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to come back!

    A beautiful tiny hotel in the very heart of the old city, just seven rooms, exactly as it states. The room is bright and clean, bed linen are clean and fresh, staff's polite, helpful and caring. And I know what I'm talking about, I've tried a half a dozen hotels in Baku city center and this is one of the best in general and absolutely best for the price. Will definitely come again. Breakfasts being served on the rooftop and accompanied by a mesmerising old city and sea view.
