The decoration of every place; restaurant, garden and rooms is so cools, make you feel en peace. Even when nobody speaks english they always looked for a way to make them self understood and always solve my questions, they were so kind and helpful. The food in the restaurant is delicious and prices are very reazonable. The place is in a nice village one hour away from Beijing and close to the best viewpoint I have ever seen of the great wall, simply fantastic.

Excellent location, right at the foot of the Great Wall. It's like a 3-minute walk to the entrance of the park. Basically you could see the wild flowers all around the mountain from the room window in March. The service is great with nice breakfast. The lounge on the second floor is relaxing and good for a coffee or tea. There's also a swimming pool in the yard.

My stay at the Derunju Guesthouse, Huairou, at the Great Wall of China: My stay at the Derunju Guesthouse, Huairou, at the Great Wall of China: “The location was magical. Although I did not have a room with a view, as soon as I got out into the corridor, I was surrounded by the beauty of the rugged landscape rising far above, bearing a section of the Great Wall. Having few guests at that rapidly turning wintry weather, the proprietress accompanied me the next day on a 6-km 6-hour walk on the Wall starting from the Guesthouse in Derunju Village. It was a sunny day and this turned out a glorious walk, in which my warm-hearted host showed me every consideration, and we were as companionable as old friends. She told everyone we met that I was 79 and from Malaysia. We climbed up to more than one hill station, the steps in some places being knee-high, and at one point we could see on the opposite side of the lake the section of the Great Wall where it slopes dramatically into the water. In the evening, I feasted on my host’s heartily delicious cuisine… And over the few days of my stay she cooked hot sour soup, jiaozi (northern dumplings) eaten with extremely hot chilli oil, local millet porridge, freshly caught local fish in a local sauce, and home-grown vegetables... We went on a road trip to see some other local sights as well; and I was also very grateful that she helped arrange a taxi for my onward trip to Beijing city. Many thanks for an unforgettable visit. A wonderful family hotel located in a cute closed village, entry there only for locals and tourist buses. It was very pleasant to walk along its beautiful and clean streets in the evenings. I really liked the hotel itself. Many thanks to the owners of the hotel: Lily and her husband Lao Yang. He picked us up from the hotel in the center of Beijing and brought us to the hotel in his comfortable car. We took a room with panoramic windows and a balcony with a view of the mountains. Special thanks to Lily and Lao Yang for the wonderful dinners!! They cook very tasty!!! Everything in the hotel is thought out to the smallest detail, very cozy and homely. Lily and Lao Yang are ready to easily take advantage of any manifestations! I highly recommend this hotel!

I really enjoyed my time here. The place is within walking distance to the cable car station (around 700 metres). So don't bother to book shuttle bus tickets to the great wall. In fact, the host can book all the necessary great wall tickets for you at the standard price if you let him know in advance. The host also provided us with breakfast and dinner at no additional charge. The host used to be in the eatery business. So the food provided taste really great. You can also arrange for the host to pick you up from the airport and to your next destination at a reasonable fee close to taxi rates. The Great Wall was the first place I visited when I landed in Beijing. I had already booked all the tickets in my itinerary beforehand. If I hadn't done that, I would have taken up the host's offer to take us to the Ming Tombs. I am pretty sure the charges would have been quite reasonable as well. Overall, my stay here was really great value for money.

Difficult to find the location for foreigners and even for our cab driver. The owner went to receive us at the street to make sure we did not miss her. We had the top floor. Awesome with the jacuzzi and cinema projector. Very spacious. Owner was very friendly and helped us with the tickets. Even drove us as VIP at no charge to the entrance of the Great Wall (as we had limited time due to forecasted rain).
