Everything, really. The location, the facilities, the cleanliness, the staff. EVERYTHING! We didn't originally plan to stay here but our first booking was cancelled by the operator at 3am when we landed in China. Talk about bad luck. But Cachet Boutique came to our rescue. They even gave us a complimentary upgrade to a bigger room. Thank you so much.

Overall my recent stay at Intercontinental Kuming is with absolute satisfactory. Especially I was very happy for the assistance by the Concierge te4am. Mr Smulin was very helpful to me such as buying new air tickets to other city of China and further amendments as well as arrangement for my airport transfer. He was always very active with quick responses, willing to help and did his best. If I was asked, I would give him and his concierge team at Intercontinental Kuming the full score 10 out of 10. Location is great. Near everything. The bathroom and toilet are clean with ample toiletries and lots of towels! Bed is super comfy and I love the big window in the room as I can see the beautiful blue sky and decided I should not waste such a lovely day 😅😅 And the staff are hospitable, too! They can't speak English very well but the important thing is that they try their best to communicate with me, and always send me their regards plus well wishes 🙆🙆🙆

I had a fantastic stay! The property itself was comfortable and well-kept, but what truly stood out was the staff. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile—whether it was arranging transportation, giving local tips, or making sure my room was perfect. It felt like they genuinely cared about making my stay special.The owner is also a crystal specialist—don’t miss the chance to meet her and maybe get a little extra good luck! I’d happily come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. We took 3 Jens King rooms for the 4 of us, and everyone was very happy with the hotel. Rooms are very well appointed, clean and well-designed. Everything we needed are there. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The black-out blinds were perfect for a complete dark room at night, and the sound-proofing very good. We really like the auto hot/cold water dispenser. Every hotel room should have one! My family love the gym. This gym has to be the best equipped hotel gym that we have ever come across. It also has a lovely heated indoor pool. Pity none of us came with our swim wear as we certainly didn't expect to swim in winter. Location also very handy. 5 mins walk to the new Spring 66 Mall, which is a very nice mall. If we are ever back in Kunming, this will be the hotel we stay again and again. No brainer.

    A really nice city, fun to explore, friendly people, vibrant streets, highly photogenic, easy to get around with its good Metro system. I was traveling alone, but ended up having nice conversations at dinner with locals almost every evening. The Stone Forest is remarkable.

    Kunming is an easy way to to get a feel for China-not too...

    Kunming is an easy way to to get a feel for China-not too big but still the buzz of an Asian city. One big bonus is the quiet roads as all the traffic is electric! The metro is very cheap and efficient and there is a good connection from the airport. Vibrant old town with food everywhere. Just be aware that they charge a fortune for beer.

    Very clean city, good whether. Free to walk around and people in Kunming are very friendly. Good quality street food at cheap prices with local and foreign beer available almost everywhere. Good places to explore. Many shops to buy clothes and accessories. Highly recommend to visit Kunming.

    stayed at ancient town, very convenient for food. But bear in mind cars not allowed in ancient town, accommodation send luggage carts. Communication in chinese important as they meet you somewhere at the entrance and bring you in with your luggages. No breakfast where I stayed but as early as 7am, shops for breakfast are opened. Need local sim card to get around by Didi. Need an app in english but couldn't get translation. Thankfully spouse could read chinese, did all the ride hailing and maps in chinese. If there was an app in English, would help non speaking/reading chinese. Suggest use a reputable tour company for private tours and plan everything if you can't use mandarin.

    Mostly everything was good!... I agree it's a five star hotel. What it wasn't so great is that the staff in general doesn't show to be HAPPY!... It's unusual to see SMILES!!!... Also, there's some mosquitos and a few flies around. Hahaha...

    The lady at reception who spoke English was simply amazing . Never have I met a person so suited to her profession in hospitality. She was so warm , professional and went above and beyond in helping us navigate our first trip to China . She is a credit to this hotel . I’m only sorry I can’t remember her name , but she is the one who speaks perfect English. She even accompanied us to the train station when we could not book the tickets at the hotels reception ! Amazing service !!

    Little slice of paradise in the remote hilly villages away from kunming city. Facilities were as advertised and rooms were beautifully decorated. Hot water was strong which is important in winter. Good for family or team bonding getaways. Owner was very friendly and helped arrange free airport shuttle.
