The Senda Watapuy is great value for money: from the new, huge, and beautiful bungalows to the incredible pool and the perfect location to enter the Tayrona Parc (10 minutes walking distance), we truly enjoyed our stay there. We relaxed wonderfully and enjoyed great massages. The app to request services was convenient, despite not always accurate. The private pool of the bungalow had jets and felt great to take a break from the sun during the afternoon. It was also very clean and maintained every morning, as well as the bungalow itself. If you're lucky, you can see titin monkeys in the trees in front of your bungalow and hear howler monkeys in the distance!

Deserves a higher rating for the friendliness of the staff and the level of service. Generally, all the staff were friendly, except for one young lady who had an attitude and was distracted. Jennifer is the person to talk to about food and drinks. She is very proactive and knowledgeable. She made a chicken soup for me when I had a cold and always enquired about our stay. Worth staying at the hotel just for her service. The food was generally good, and we can highlight the mexican tomato soup, avocado with quinoa, langostinos al horno, fried pargo, fish ceviche at Koguiwa. The juices were great, so were the margarita and maraqugin cocktails. The restaurant at Watapuy has fusion food, we enjoyed the beef tenderloin with peppersauce, Wasabi tortellini, grilled sea bass and soup. The rooms are comfortable, and could be better with a kettle and more shelf space. The walk to the river and the trek on Sendero Aluno are worth taking. We saw a lot of birds, squirrels and the cotton topped tamarins on the property. The best persons to ask for any assistance is Grace and to follow up is Angie, both have always been concerned about our comfort. The only issue is that you have is to ask for all details as the app has limited info. We even found out the trek by accident while chatting with a gardener. Another highlight was the Khem spa set up overlooking the river. Jomali was amazing with the Thai stretching massage, one of the best treatments ever for me. She was knowledgeable, thorough, caring and pleasant. Danna also gave me an effective chitomassage. The hotel is walking distance from the Tayrona National Park. Get all information before going there as we were surprised about hidden expenses and the need for cash inside. We also visited the Kogui village near Rio Ancho, worth the effort. I stayed here for 3 nights with my sister and its an incredible place. You really do feel properly immersed in nature and the rooms are comfy, food is yum and theres a nice chill out area. However, Be warned the river is not small ! But it kindof added to the sense of adventure and if you walk further up there is a bridge but it does take longer

Fantastic. We felt like Robinson Crusoe in our small piece of paradise in the middle of the jungle. The rooms are super comfortable with incredible views and private hammocks to lay back and relax. Early morning, we watched several groups of monkeys playing near reception. We even saw a few howler monkeys. There were birds everywhere. The beach is super close and stunning. The water was warm and inviting. Our meals were delicious and served by a team of super friendly, super helpful staff. We met the manager Oswald who avails himself for a chat and park information and could not have been more entertaining, interesting and friendly. What a super guy. A little expensive but worth every peso. A little touch of paradise in la Selva.

    We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, pool was very nice with the sierra on the back. room was clean and spacious. Sound of the river was very relaxing. Food is very good and tasty, patacones were our favorites. Service just needs to be from good to great to make this the perfect hotel.

    For those wanting to hike the Tayrona trail, this resort is close by the entrance of the park, and it is a blessing to have this place nearby after hours of walking in the heat. I had a deep tissue massage after my walk and it was divine. My room was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast here is delicious and very generous. Highly recommend.

    Really nice jungle park. Definitely recommend. I liked that there is a bus from the entrance of the park to the trailhead (2 miles - it's 5,000 cop). There are also guys who sell popsicles on the trail to Cabo San Juan and they are delicious. Great views along the way, the hike is really cool but it is a bit of a trek. There are lots of bugs because it is the jungle, so bug spray was essential. But, all in all it's pretty worth it. I also really liked visiting the other side of the park - Playa Cristal was beautiful, but there were no buses. Needed to hire a mototaxi to get there. I hope that will be different in the future! I heard there are buses that go there. Can't wait to go back

    First off, the hostel itself is incredible.

    First off, the hostel itself is incredible. It is extremely easy to access by bus from Santa Marta - we took the shuttle from the market downtown and we arrived at the El Zaino entrance within 40 minutes for 12 000 COP. From then it's a 350m walk to the hostel which is located above a few flights of stairs. The hostel is extremely clean and offers a panoramic view on the surrounding mountains. There is a pool and spa which are extremely well taken care of and the rooms are also very clean and spacious. While being well protected from the outsides at night, you get to fall asleep to the sounds of the insects and birds surrounding the hostel which was pretty cool. There is also a restaurant there where the employees cook fresh food for breakfast (free) and diner when your order. The food was amazing and cooked with love and at a cheaper price than at any other hostel we visited. Where the place shines above all however is the personnel and the customer service. Suzanna and Abraham are the only two people working there from our understanding and they make everything work perfectly. Both were very serviceable. Suzanna (I hope I am writing it correctly) went out of her way multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed and more. Not only does she offer 5 stars customer service, she cooks the food, works the reception, prepares the rooms, and offers massage services. From all the hostels / hotels we've visited while traveling, never have I written such a positive feedback on the property's staff and I mean every word of it. If you plan to visit Tayrona or the surrounding area, be sure to book your stay at this place.

    We reserved two nights but couldn't make it for the first...

    We reserved two nights but couldn't make it for the first due to a family emergency. Despite explaining, they said there were no options. After a phone call, someone promised to find a solution, but no one remembers the conversation. The location is terrible, far from the nicer beaches in Tayrona. Overpriced food; 40 meters away, you can get better food and an amazing view for the same price. WiFi doesn't work properly, but surprisingly, 40 meters away, it works perfectly. If you seek cheap accommodation, welcome, but don't expect anything more.

    The location in the park was second to none.

    The location in the park was second to none. The walks were excellent. The accommodation was lacking. We did a 12k walk to another beach which was lovely but I was informed there weren’t many other trails - that would be a shame if true.
