I loved everything about this place. The staff, the food at the restaurant, everything. They can help accommodate whatever special requests you might have and helped me arrange a great guided hike around the volcano. The room was clean and the hammock out front was perfectly shaded for afternoon reading. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, above and beyond expectations.

The hosts are exceptionally kind and welcoming, they were so happy to give advice on what the best places in Rincon de La vieja are. The breakfast they serve (for a little extra but so worth it) is a delicious Costa Rican breakfast. I will be coming back.

Good location for hiking in Rincon de la Vieja National Park. We only stayed for two nights but enjoyed it a lot, especially the small pool area. The host was really friendly and served delicious dinner.

Malekus Mountain Lodge is a beautiful property. The Lodge is the perfect base for hiking the local parks, and the breakfasts are varied & delicious. Fabulous place to stay. Very helpful and informative hosts. This place has a 5 star feel and the Chocolate tour is a must, it will probably be the best one you do.
