YES, you must go there. Great place with lots of activities. Travis took us out in the nice old life boat 'Nicoya Queen'. Went to the prisoner island and Travis made the best lobster we've ever had. Thanks :) The breakfast is excellent. Nice traditional Tico breakfast or best: Travis' special egg benedict! Not to forget: You can also borrow canoes and go on a trip yourself. Beautiful Hotel with a magnificent view on the sea. The cleanest and best managed I found in Costa Rica during my trips, the ideal place to relax and forget the outside world. As a biologis it was a plus to find a phytoremediation plant. I hope to be back soon and thank all the staff for their kindness.

The property has a great view over the coastline. Very close to Playa Naranjo harbour and beach. The room was spacious, comfortable, very clean, with all the necessary amenities for cooking and with an amazing terrace with a beautiful view (we spot a lot of birds). Above all, the owners are amazing people, very kind and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and special (fresh and homemade food)

Beautiful cabin, furnished to a high quality with lovely bed linen and towels. Set in an amazing forest where you can walk, see birds and the trees and plants many of which have information about them. There is a pool ideal for cooling down. Very peaceful at night.

This was so worth going out of our way for - it is a magical property built with love, set in a magical setting with stunning views, great nature, great walks and efficient, helpful and kind hosts. This whole venture is clearly a huge labour of love built on great values and it shows with everything they do and provide - including completely fresh milk daily from the ‘nearest cow’ at breakfast!

This place is absolutely stunning! From staff to food to location to beach...beautiful. Kayaks and SUP are available to use plus welcome Margaritas on arrival. The friendliness as well as helpfulness of the staff is mostly highlighted. Would definitely come back!

We chose el Gecko as our travel through hotel on our way from San Jose to Montezuma. As we arrived, both of us were sick from eating the wrong things. Inge, our SUPERhost, took care of us and translated everything for us in the hospital to make sure we got healthy again. Without her it would have been almost impossible to manage this! Again a BIG thank you for this! In addition, the hotel is kind of inside a forest and has a paradisal surrounding.
