Bad Essen is a nice little cosy village.
Bad Essen is a nice little cosy village. The center of the village contains a cluster of quality nice little restaurants, hotels and cafes, housed in beautiful old half-timbered buildings. On the central square there are a number of cozy terraces where you can enjoy a coffee and cake, a glass of beer, breakfast, lunch or dinner. The village is located on the edge of the Wiehengebirge, a beautiful wooded hilly area, up to 220 m high glacier moraines, where endless walks through nature are possible. Cute little town with half timbered houses. There are some small restaurants in town with outside seating for coffee/lunch and a few options for dinner. We went to Tecklenburg which has a fantastic konditorei named Cafe Rabbel. Highly recommend it. Osnabruck is only a half hour drive as well and is a nice city with a lot more dinner options. Really enjoyed our 3 day stay. Not sure if I would stay longer unless you were to go cycling.Guest review bySandraNetherlands
