Very good location. Really nice staff. We brought our 2 dogs and in the room was……. 2 Bowl for the dog and candies for the dog. Very unexpected brilliant surprise. Breakfast really good, coffee exceptional. Blinds in the room are blocking the daylight completely, not seen that good anywhere else. Next time, this will be our place to stay.

Rooms are clean, with a beautiful wooden floor. It is one of the few hotels in Bochum with rooms with a wooden floor instead of a carpet. There was a misunderstanding when I checked in, but it was fixed the next day. The room was beautiful, and decorated with good taste. Bathroom is very modern. The hotel is ideally located, in the center, surrounded by restaurants and bars, and within a 10 min walking distance from the railway station. Breakfast is "à la carte", and is good. I appreciated the staff and the waitress who served me at breakfast.

    It is an industrial city. The pedestrian area and "Bermuda Triangle" were very nice. We went to visit family so it was more of that than any sort of sightseeing. Have been there a few times and always enjoyed the city.

    Kortumstrasse is great and the Bratwursthaus is the best.

    Kortumstrasse is great and the Bratwursthaus is the best. Rest of the Center felt a bit difficult to navigate and empty later in the day though admittedly on working days so it might be better in the weekend. Highlander Games has great Board Game Stock but mostly for the German speaking audience. The Matrix is a must go place for a concert. Paddy's Irish Pub may be small but has nice ambience and a great price on the Guinness.

    I was in Bochum to visit friends, but was pleasantly...

    I was in Bochum to visit friends, but was pleasantly surprised with all the city had to offer! The Stadtpark is lovely, with lots of hiking trails and some paddle boats, and the view from the Bismarck tower was very good (and free!). I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Mining Museum underground tour - very informative and fun! There is so much green in the city, and many shopping opportunities and excellent transport. It's also easy to travel to other locations. We visited the half-timber houses of Hattingen and also Dusseldorf (only about 30 min trip by train). Our favourite restaurants were the tapas bar Uno Mas, and the innovative restaurant The Living Room.

    Public transportation is excellent.

    Public transportation is excellent. Figuring out which zone ticket to pay might be a challenge. If you need to eat, visit the Bermuda dreieck where you have two blocks of restaurants. Choosing might be a challenge. Bochum is worth a trip. Take extra time.

    Our family of five (two couples and one child) stayed in two separate units at Abels Appartements. We were pleased with our 1-night stay, which was in conjunction with attending a performance of Starlight Express in Bochum. We appreciated the spacious, well-equipped apartments; readily available street parking; and most of all, the reasonable price. We also enjoyed two meals at a restaurant associated with the appartment complex and being able to use a city park adjacent to the apartment complex.
