    Boiensdorf is a sleepy village with lots of holiday homes.

    Boiensdorf is a sleepy village with lots of holiday homes. It is best reached by car, a bus service is available taking you to Rerik and towards Wismar. Great for relaxing, hiking, cycling, sailing, kitesurfing. Its about 1,5 km to the lagoon and a bit further to a nature reserve all very beautiful. The Lagoon is very shallow, therefore good for kids, easy for kite surfers especially beginners. There are not many places to eat. There is a beach bar `'Cafe-snacks am Haff' at the lagoon or an eatery at the Boiensdorfer Werder Camping Site called 'Haffperle' overlooking the sea. the food there looked pretty good. Boiensdorf makes a good base to explore the surrounding area of the Salzhaff Lagoon. I recommend a trip to Rerik for sun and beaches or boat trips around the lagoon, Insel Poel beaches, also for Kite Surfing and probably much more, a daytrip to Wismar is a must, take a a boat trip to see some seals out in the bay (Call the tourist information about that one). All good stuff.
