The hotel is situated on upper floors of an old building, it has had extensive renovations, the rooms are lovely but the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful especially Moataz on reception, he called ubers for me, helped with language difficulties. I cannot speak more highly of his great skills. The breakfast was super good, ample food and varied with choices. Zamalek is easy to walk.

The room was luxurious, spacious, and offered stunning views of the Nile. We were impressed by the elegance and comfort of the space, which made us feel right at home. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the amenities provided were top-notch, contributing to an overall sense of relaxation and indulgence. Room service was another highlight of our stay. The Om Kolthoom Hotel was perfect for my needs. It was quiet, clean, close to attractions, and upstairs from a 24-hour cafe and restaurant. The staff was also very respectful and friendly without being pushy. And because it was a holiday weekend in Cairo, I lucked out and had the pool to myself - so it felt very VIP. And as far as design and views go, it looks better in person than in pictures because this is an older hotel with old-fashioned, but tasteful furniture that don't show up that well in photos -- and their is a view of the Nile, but a parking lot in front. Once you're there, you can kind of ignore this. It's super pleasant and great for people who need a child getaway. And this location is great for foreigners, including western women traveling alone. You'll feel safe and respected here.
