Lovely traditional town with some lovely restaurants and bars. It was a little lively some evenings as we were there Christmas week but the noise died down after midnight,. Ayamonte is an absolutely charming little Spanish town and most certainly worth a few days visit or a day trip from Portugal. It's extremely clean, charming, lots of restaurant options. My wife and I lived near Ayamonte for 17 memorable years. It is a typical Andalucian town by the river/sea. It is not sophisticated but a working town/fishing port. If you want a true taste of Andalucia, this is the perfect place to visit. The apartment is so comfortable, clean, spacious, beautifully decorated including the most fantastic views over the Guadiana, Portugal and the ferry to VRSA.
