Beautiful town! Never felt unsafe. The Alhambra was an amazing place BUT, please spend the money to have a tour. There are no explanations for what you are seeing so to get the most of the palaces, take a tour. Also the caves in sacromonte - where the gypsys lived is an eye opener. Only €5 admission with 11 caves (homes) to explore. It’s a bit of a hike but also provide some of the best views of the Alhambra and summer palace.Guest review bybrettAustralia - 8.0

I thought the old town area was very interesting but there were a lot of take away/sit in type places to eat and I found it difficult to find nicer restaurants, I would recommend you research this before travelling. The temperature in August was too hot for us as a family and if I was to visit again I would go earlier or later in the year. The people were very nice and the general standard of the food we did get was good. The shops were a bit repetitive in the old part of the town but the new part had what you would expect any bigger city/town in Spain to have including some nice bespoke boutique and jewellary shops.Guest review byNicolaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

When you go, you must visit The Alhambra, I went with a guide, which has whetted my appetite to learn more about the history of Spain. Visit the Alhambra and all the sites in the city, like the Cathedral. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs or bars for tapas. Book a Flamenco show. You will not be disappointed. You can explore Granada on foot. All the main sites are within walking distance, or catch the 'tourist bus' that regularly go all around the city. Granada is a must see city if you are visiting Spain. For breakfast the cafe chain Puerta Benina do excellent Spanish breakfast and wonderful cakes with Lavazza coffee. Transport is excellent for see the city. ‘Enjoy It’ is a wonderful place to eat.Guest review byAnnSpain
