My plan was to search out local places of interest in a 1 night stay. Being the hottest day of the year did not help and the heat caused my phone/satnav to turn off. I never found any of the places I planned to check out and was glad to go back home the following day. Mula town seemed dead. Saw one or two bars open. No shops. I guess most locals visit the excellent Aldi Supermarket very near my accomodation.Guest review byMalcolmSpain - 6.0

Mula itself has some good sights (interesting museum about the Iberian people based on what was found in graves - some amazing pots etc., castle on a hill) but not loads of things to do and only a couple of good restaurants: we ate at two with good and interesting cookery but one had limited opening days. Would be OK as a base to travel around the area but probably not very interesting to stay for more than 3 days. Some pavements are very narrow in the old part of the village, but ti is easy enough to walk around the place. Not particularly picturesque beyond the government square/castle though. The hotel was so lovely, the patio in the back was so cute and the pool looked really nice - unfortunately it was too cold outside still to use during my stay but will definitely be back in the summer! Overall, this is one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at. The room is large and comfortable, the balcony has a nice view of the plaza, and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming.
