Amazingly looking and positively impressed. Can't imagine why only 2 stars. In the (small) city center. The restaurant is amazing and the prices are surprisingly low.

The accommodation was quiet, nicely cleaned and overall welcoming. We appreciated the local restaurant which was probably the best option in the area. The free parking was definitely handy as well. The hotel has amazing charm. We also really liked the bathroom which looked like brand new. We only stayed overnight at this hotel, but it's still one we will not easily forget.

We chose Saiaritz to have a rural base close to Bilbao, with parking. It was a good plan but Saiaritz made it fantastic. The building is architect built, beautifully finished. Amurrio lies in a lovely green plain, surrounded by hills; in the middle of Spain’s heatwave we stayed cool. We could take the (air conditioned) train from Amurrio to Bilbao for a few euros, with no parking hassles. But by far the highlight of our stay at Saiaritz was the hilarious and warm family who run it, Eritzu (sorry I don’t know how to spell her name, but she will know I mean her) her brother Angel, parents, grandparents, children alll play a part in making you feel welcome. Highly recommended! Muchas gracias Saiaritz.

    A pleasant village close to Vittoria/Gatiez. Very scenic countryside. A good stopping off place for Bilbao ferry (1hr) or for recreational pursuits ie. MTB and walking/hiking. Good cafes in center of village

    Only fourty five minutes from ferry port of Bilbao, away...

    Only fourty five minutes from ferry port of Bilbao, away from city in national park area so very convenient for early morning sailings or late evening arrivals. Only 5 minutes off the motorway so quick and easy to travel and find hotel in small town. Underground parking safe and secure but only 4 or 5 places available. Hotel Restaurant closed due to Covid 19, but continental breakfast was fresh and quickly served and available from 07.15 am.
