The Cathedral of Santander is a historic landmark in the city centre. Built between the 12th and 14th century, this historic monument consists of two Gothic churches. The Alameda de Oviedo Boulevard is a shopping paradise where you can find everything you need.

Santander is a popular resort for mainly Spanish visitors. It's an attractive city with plenty to see and do. It's family friendly too. It's easy to get to nearby Bilbao, or to Potes in the mountains. There are fast and frequent coach services all over the region. Intercity public transport is limited, restaurants and supermarkets are expensive, and getting around often involves climbing steep stairs between roads. Santander was a real surprise for us.

Very comfortable and quiet, great facilities, immaculately clean. Parking was easy to find. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach, and about a 10 minute drive to the ferry terminal. Theresa suggested a fish restaurant about 20 mins walk from the hotel, which was a fantastic experience. Also, the route takes you through an old tunnel under part of Santander.
